The Opportunity

Southern Staffing Group is partnering with a leading critical power and infrastructure services company to find a Service Center Manager. You'll run the whole operation: the people, the schedule, the customers, and the numbers.

This is a hands-on leadership role for an engineer or senior technician ready to own a P&L. You'll lead a team of Field Engineers, Technicians, and Business Administrators while staying close to the technical work you know well.

What You'll Do

You'll own sales, profit, and quality for your service area.

Lead the operation

•    Build daily schedules for Field Engineers and Technicians, and make sure the right equipment is ready for every job.

•    Run regular service center meetings to keep the team aligned on goals and progress.

•    Partner with the Business Administrator on weekly invoicing and monthly status reports.

Grow the business

•    Call on territory accounts and develop new ones alongside the Sales Team and General Manager.

•    Write, review, and close accurate proposals that hit order and sales goals.

•    Review and sign contracts within your authority, and serve as the main customer contact.

Be the technical anchor

•    Support field personnel, sales engineers, and report writers with technical guidance.

•    Review field reports and audit jobs for quality.

•    Recommend field procedures and coordinate technical training.

•    Keep all test equipment calibrated and traceable to NIST.

Develop your people and keep them safe

•    Interview candidates and help build your team.

•    Conduct performance reviews and recommend salary changes.

•    Lead safety meetings and ensure compliance with environmental and safety policies.

What You Bring

There's more than one path into this role. You qualify with any one of these:

Education

Experience

BSEE or BSME degree

6+ years

Electrical technical school or military equivalent

9+ years in same or similar work

High school diploma plus a two-year Associate degree

9+ years in same or similar work

You'll also need:

•    Proven supervisory, organizational, and management skills.

•    Clear written and verbal communication with clients, peers, and leadership.

•    Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word templates and formatting, online research of standards and products, and computer-controlled test equipment.

•    A valid driver's license.

You'll Thrive Here If You…

•    Drive results. You set stretch goals, push for the bottom line, and consistently land among the top performers.

•    Build strong teams. You share the wins, let people own their work, and give your team visibility with senior leadership.

•    Put customers first. You get firsthand feedback and use it to improve service.

•    Lead with clarity. You set clear direction, distribute work fairly, and keep a two-way dialogue going.

•    Juggle well. You marshal people, equipment, and budget across multiple jobs and separate the critical from the trivial.

•    Negotiate with tact. You can be direct and firm while still building trust, inside the company and out.

•    Listen. You hear people out, even when you disagree, and relate well to everyone from technicians to executives.

Compensation

This role pays a $121,800–$140,000 base salary with real upside through sales incentives.

•    Base salary: $121,800–$140,000, salaried exempt.

•    Sales incentive plan: 25% target bonus that pays out up to 500% of target, so top performers can earn 5x their target incentive.

•    No overtime or per diem; your earning power comes from base plus incentive.

The Work Environment

This role splits time between the office and the field.

•    About 25% travel, including site and field visits, meetings at headquarters in Westerville, OH, and industry conferences. Expect flexible hours, some weekends, and occasional overnight stays.

•    Office work at a computer, plus supervising field job sites in and around electrical equipment.

•    Regular sitting, standing, walking, and close-focus vision work.

•    A recruiter who preps you for interviews and advocates for you on offer details.

•    Confidential support if you're currently employed.
