Job Summary
Are you a hands-on problem solver who enjoys travel and takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service? We are seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to join our team. In this role, no two days will be the same. You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical power distribution equipment while providing top-notch service to commercial and industrial customers.

Key Responsibilities
As a Field Service Technician, you will perform testing and maintenance on low, medium, and high voltage power distribution equipment in accordance with industry standards for commercial and industrial clients.
Testing and Calibration
- Instrument transformers
- Power transformer testing, including Doble, insulation resistance, and transformer turns ratio (TTR)
- Cable testing, including power factor, tan delta, VLF, and hipot
- Low, medium, and high voltage circuit breaker and switchgear testing
- Primary and secondary injection testing
- Protective relay testing, including electromechanical and solid-state relays
- Continuity and ground fault testing
- Power quality analysis
Troubleshooting and Start-Up
- Inspect, troubleshoot, perform start-ups, and collect data on:
- Switchgear
- Circuit breakers
- Cables
- Transformers
- Protective relays
- VFDs
- ATS systems
Service and Repair
- Perform equipment inspections
- Diagnose issues and replace parts as needed
- Make repair recommendations
- Recommission equipment after service
Safety and Compliance
- Follow all safety procedures and protocols, including LOTO requirements
Teamwork
- Support teammates and contribute to a strong team environment focused on shared goals
Customer Service and Documentation
- Communicate findings, issues, and resolutions clearly to customers
- Complete reports and documentation accurately and promptly
Training Opportunity
Not every candidate will have every skill listed on day one. A successful training program is available to help you build the technical knowledge, certifications, and experience needed to grow in the role.
Qualifications
- Associate degree from an accredited two-year technical college in Electrical Power, or comparable military training preferred
- Examples include Army Prime Power, Air Force Electrical Power Production, or Navy Seabee experience
- Some hands-on testing experience with low and medium voltage switchgear, circuit breakers, transformers, and/or protective relays required
- NETA Certification strongly preferred, or equivalent experience with the ability to become certified
- PowerDB experience is a plus
- Valid, unrestricted driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- At least 3 years of vehicle operating experience
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, operating manuals, and safety guidelines
- Ability to work flexible hours, overtime, weekends, and on-call schedules as needed
