Our client, a leader in engineering services specializing in testing and commissioning within the electric utility industry, is seeking a skilled Senior Test Engineer to join their team to service their utility client throughout WV, VA, PA, and Washington DC. As a Senior Test Engineer, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with industry experts and grow professionally while validating engineered designs to ensure the correct implementation of protection schemes.

Key Responsibilities:

This role offers the chance to strengthen and elevate your expertise through continuous learning and training programs. Responsibilities include:

  • Clearly identifying zones of protection.
  • Communicating and navigating SEL and GE relays with ease.
  • Independently testing relay protection elements.
  • Verifying CT and PT ratios, phasing, polarity, and single-point grounds.
  • Performing fundamental control circuitry tests.
  • Identifying and confirming station phasing and equipment orientation.
  • Reviewing and navigating project drawing packages: one-line, three-line, schematic, and wiring diagrams.
  • Conducting required power calculations.
  • Developing and executing relay test routines using Protection Suite, Test Universe, and RTS.
  • Applying task-specific human performance tools and safety procedures.
  • Creating protection isolation plans using established protocols.
  • Developing commissioning plans and procedures tailored to client needs.
