Overview
This role owns technical and commercial proposal development for modular power solutions supporting mission-critical data centers and select industrial verticals.
You will take customer RFPs and specifications and translate them into fully defined scope, configuration, pricing, and delivery strategy for integrated modular systems including E-Houses, PDCs, and MV/LV skids.
This is a high-impact, front-end engineering role that sits at the intersection of engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and customer engagement. Success in this role requires strong technical depth, commercial awareness, and the ability to drive clarity across complex, multi-discipline solutions.
Core Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end proposal development for modular power systems (E-Houses, PDCs, MV/LV skids)
- Review RFPs, specifications, and drawings to define scope, risks, exclusions, and commercial considerations
- Architect modular solutions including electrical and mechanical system boundaries and interconnect responsibilities
- Develop detailed assumptions, clarifications, and deviations to ensure quote accuracy and reduce execution risk
- Coordinate with engineering, supply chain, and vendors to define equipment selection and system configuration
- Build and maintain cost models, BOM frameworks, and pricing structures across labor, material, logistics, and testing
- Develop lead times and schedule assumptions including manufacturing, FAT/SAT, and field deployment
- Lead internal reviews for technical alignment, pricing, margin, and delivery commitments
- Interface directly with customers to support technical discussions, clarifications, and proposal alignment
- Support negotiations with value engineering options and cost/schedule tradeoffs
Qualifications
- B.S. in Engineering (Electrical preferred; Mechanical or related acceptable with strong modular power experience)
- 5+ years in proposal engineering, applications engineering, estimating, or technical sales support within modular or mission-critical power systems
- Proven experience quoting complete, multi-discipline technical solutions
- Strong understanding of modular electrical systems including switchgear, transformers, ATS, UPS, batteries, and supporting mechanical systems
- Proficiency with Excel-based costing and proposal documentation
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent opportunities in a deadline-driven environment
- Strong written communication skills for scope definition and technical documentation
Preferred Experience
- Data center infrastructure (PDCs, UPS plants, busway, modular power rooms)
- Familiarity with UL/NRTL compliance and its impact on cost and schedule
- Experience with ERP / CPQ / CRM tools (SAP, Oracle, Salesforce, etc.)
- Understanding of logistics and deployment of large modular systems
- Exposure to BESS / lithium-ion systems and associated safety considerations
What This Role Actually Requires
- Ability to own the full proposal lifecycle from RFP intake through final submission
- Strong balance of technical depth and commercial judgment
- Comfort operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with evolving standards
- Ability to define clear scope boundaries in complex modular builds
- Someone who can bring structure to ambiguity and drive alignment across teams
