Overview
Our client is seeking Electrical Testing Technicians to support a major data center commissioning project in the Jackson, Mississippi area. These positions will support startup, energization, testing, and commissioning activities associated with critical medium-voltage electrical infrastructure as systems are prepared for operational service.
This is not a construction electrician role. Successful candidates will possess a working knowledge of medium-voltage power distribution systems and be comfortable supporting testing, startup, commissioning, and energization activities involving MV switchgear, transformers, CT/PT circuits, protective relays, and associated distribution equipment.

Key Responsibilities
· Support energization, startup, and commissioning activities for medium-voltage power distribution systems
· Assist with equipment verification and operational readiness checks
· Identify and communicate potential issues during startup and testing activities
· Support commissioning teams during system validation and turnover activities
· Assist with testing and verification of MV switchgear, breakers, transformers, CT/PT circuits, protective relays, and associated distribution equipment
· Support acceptance testing and operational verification activities
· Document test results, observations, and field findings accurately
· Assist in identifying abnormalities and escalating findings to project leadership
· Work closely with commissioning teams, project leadership, and customer representatives
Safety & Compliance
· Follow OSHA, NFPA 70E, and site-specific safety requirements
· Maintain proper use of PPE, testing equipment, and company assets
· Support a culture of safety, accountability, and procedural compliance
· Participate in safety meetings, job hazard analyses, and project briefings
Required Qualifications
· 3-5 years of experience within electrical testing, commissioning, field service, power systems, switchgear service, apparatus repair, industrial maintenance, or related electrical infrastructure environments
· Working knowledge of medium-voltage power distribution systems and associated equipment
· Experience supporting testing, commissioning, startup, maintenance, or troubleshooting activities involving medium-voltage switchgear, breakers, transformers, CT/PT circuits, protective relays, and associated power distribution equipment
· Ability to identify and communicate electrical system issues during testing and energization activities
· Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, one-line diagrams, and technical documentation
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to following established procedures
· Excellent safety mindset and understanding of safe work practices
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience supporting data center, industrial, utility, or mission-critical projects
· Exposure to CT/PT testing and protective relay testing
· Previous commissioning, startup, or energization experience
· Experience supporting medium-voltage systems ranging from 5kV through 35kV
· Familiarity with medium-voltage switchgear lineups, protection schemes, and energization procedures
· NFPA 70E Certification
· NETA experience is a plus but not required
· OEM field service, apparatus, switchgear, or electrical maintenance experience highly valued
· Military electrical experience strongly considered
