Energy Infrastructure Project Manager — Renewables- West
Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support renewable energy development projects including solar, battery energy storage, and emerging technologies across western markets. This role focuses on guiding projects through the full development lifecycle — from early due diligence and siting through permitting, environmental compliance, and implementation.
The ideal candidate brings strong leadership skills, regulatory expertise, and experience managing complex renewable energy projects for developer clients.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery & Lifecycle Management
- Manage renewable energy projects through all stages of development, permitting, and implementation
- Oversee project scope, schedule, budget, and quality
- Develop integrated schedules covering entitlement, permitting, environmental review, and construction activities
- Identify risks early and implement strategies to maintain project timelines
Siting, Entitlements & Environmental Planning
- Lead early-stage due diligence, constraints analysis, and siting strategy
- Support land use entitlements including Conditional Use Permits, General Plan Amendments, and Williamson Act processes
- Manage environmental studies and regulatory permitting strategies
- Ensure environmental compliance during development and construction phases
Regulatory Coordination & Permitting
- Coordinate federal, state, and local permitting efforts
- Support wildlife agency approvals, aquatic resource permits, and related environmental authorizations
- Maintain alignment with regulatory frameworks across California, Nevada, and Arizona
Team Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including planners, engineers, environmental specialists, and permitting staff
- Serve as primary client contact and maintain strong relationships with renewable energy developers
- Communicate clearly with stakeholders regarding project milestones, risks, and decision points
Client Engagement & Business Development
- Support proposals, scopes, budgets, and strategic pursuits
- Participate in client meetings and industry engagement
- Contribute to growth initiatives within the renewable energy sector
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in environmental planning, policy, science, or related field
- 10+ years of renewable energy or infrastructure project experience
- Demonstrated lifecycle experience including siting, entitlements, permitting, and environmental compliance
- Experience with solar, battery storage, or similar energy technologies
- Strong understanding of western U.S. regulatory frameworks
- Proven project management skills including schedule and budget oversight
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
- Ability to travel as needed
