My client is a nationally recognized engineering and consulting firm supporting both public and private sector clients across infrastructure, utilities, environmental, and construction-focused projects. With a strong presence nationwide, they are known for delivering high-impact solutions that improve the communities where we live and work.


They are currently seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to take on a leadership role in their Ventura, CA office. This position offers the opportunity to lead complex geotechnical projects while mentoring staff and contributing to business growth.


Position Overview

The Ventura team delivers a wide range of services including conventional geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, and advanced geotechnical solutions for hillside design, retaining structures, bridges, seismic analysis, and forensic investigations. This role will be instrumental in leading project execution and expanding client relationships.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute geotechnical engineering projects including analysis, design, and report preparation
  • Oversee field exploration and laboratory testing programs
  • Provide senior-level technical review of proposals and deliverables
  • Ensure project commitments, schedules, and budgets are met
  • Support business development efforts including proposals and client presentations
  • Supervise and mentor geotechnical engineers, staff, and technicians
  • Participate in industry organizations and professional development activities


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s (required) or Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience
  • Experience supporting public works and transportation projects
  • Strong background in:
  • Foundation design and excavation support systems
  • Seismic risk and soil-structure interaction analysis
  • Proven project management experience and ability to lead teams
  • Proficiency with tools such as gINT, LPile, Slope/W, MathCAD, and CAD (preferred)
  • California Professional Engineer (PE) required
  • Geotechnical Engineer (GE) license preferred or ability to obtain quickly
