SENIOR FIELD QUALITY MANAGER

POSITION SUMMARY

Our client is looking for a Senior Field Quality Manager to support a major Power Delivery Electrical Construction project.

The Senior Field Quality Manager is responsible for monitoring and auditing project quality management requirements and verifying that required quality management activities are being performed. This position works closely with project management and other stakeholders to oversee project quality objectives and activities, supports planning and surveillance of procured equipment and materials, assists with engineering-management quality activities, and helps measure Quality Management System (QMS) processes. The role also monitors the work of Quality Leads and provides field-level quality leadership on a major power-delivery project.

MAJOR DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide guidance in updating project quality management plans, procedures, and processes.

• Maintain comprehensive documentation of planned quality management activities, including reports, records, and audits.

• Assist senior-level peers with planning, implementing, and scheduling training topics, processes, and procedures.

• Provide training in quality processes and procedures for less experienced employees.

• Monitor alignment of project procedures and processes with the Quality Management System and project contract requirements.

• Review subcontractor quality plans, procedures, and inspection reports.

• Report quality performance metrics to senior quality leadership and the project management team.

• Monitor the work and output of Quality Leads and provide feedback to upper management.

• Verify that non-conformances are identified, documented, and tracked.

• Assist senior management with maintenance of the overall QMS and templates for project-specific Quality Management Plans (QMPs), as assigned.

• Lead and conduct required quality meetings, ensuring key stakeholders understand expected verification, compliance, and contract-requirement outputs.

• Regularly interact and communicate with client team members to ensure required client deliverables are met.

• Provide support and guidance to project team members in planning quality management activities.

• Provide project-team QMP training and awareness regarding activities planned for projects.

• Recommend procedural improvements and best practices based on audit results, experience, and lessons learned.

• Participate in quality-related discussions during project kick-off and pre-construction meetings.

• During project planning, coordinate with operating units to ensure quality obligations, requirements, and documentation are satisfied.

• Adhere to applicable internal standards, policies, and procedures and perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate’s degree in a relevant field with a minimum of five (5) years of experience, or a minimum of seven (7) years of experience in design, surveillance monitoring, and project and quality management.

• Experience with quality management systems supporting construction, engineering, or manufacturing practices.

• Experience supporting the development and implementation of quality systems and programs.

• Experience working in multiple states with an understanding of state and local codes relating to quality.

• Advanced Procore experience related to project, quality, and administration functions.

• Strong background in safety requirements and environmental considerations.

• Leadership and inspection experience within surveillance oversight programs.

• Technical expertise managing inspection and testing programs.

• Strong experience verifying and reviewing non-conformances and preventive/corrective actions.

• Solid understanding of critical path scheduling.

• OSHA 10-Hour certification.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as construction management sciences, electrical engineering, or civil engineering, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

• OSHA 10- and 30-Hour certification.

• Seven (7) years of experience in planning or management of EPC, Design-Build, or CMAR projects.

• Seven (7) years of experience performing engineering design quality management, surveillance monitoring of equipment or materials production facilities, or construction quality management in the power delivery space.

• Certifications such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and Certified Quality Auditor (CQA).

• Certifications in civil and electrical inspection, testing, welding inspection, structural bolting, testing, and commissioning.
