Project Executive – Data Center Construction
Location: Dallas, TX

A leading engineering, procurement, and construction organization is seeking an experienced Project Executive to oversee the successful delivery of large-scale data center and mission-critical construction projects. This leadership role is responsible for guiding projects from preconstruction and pursuit through commissioning and closeout while ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and financial objectives are achieved.
The Project Executive will provide strategic oversight to multidisciplinary project teams, collaborate with executive leadership, and serve as a key liaison between clients, design professionals, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders. This individual will play a critical role in driving operational excellence, client satisfaction, and project profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide executive leadership for complex Design-Build, EPC, and integrated project delivery efforts from pursuit through final completion.
- Direct engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project controls activities to ensure successful execution.
- Establish project strategy, execution plans, staffing requirements, and performance objectives.
- Lead contract administration activities, including management of prime contracts, subcontract agreements, and vendor purchase orders.
- Ensure compliance with project-specific safety, environmental, quality assurance, and quality control requirements.
- Monitor project financial performance, forecasting, cost controls, cash flow, and overall profitability.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships while serving as the primary executive point of contact.
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimize impacts to budget and schedule.
- Lead resolution of contractual, commercial, and operational issues.
- Provide direct supervision and mentorship to Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, Construction Managers, and other project personnel.
- Oversee procurement planning, subcontractor engagement, vendor management, and material acquisition strategies.
- Coordinate with estimating, scheduling, engineering, and field teams to develop and maintain project execution schedules.
- Review project progress and performance metrics, ensuring alignment with contractual obligations and organizational goals.
- Lead value engineering and constructability reviews to improve project efficiency and reduce costs.
- Manage change orders, claims avoidance strategies, and commercial negotiations.
- Review and approve project invoices, subcontractor pay applications, and financial reporting.
- Prepare and present executive-level project updates related to schedule, budget, risk, and operational performance.
- Oversee project closeout activities, warranty administration, lessons learned, and post-project evaluations.
- Foster collaboration among clients, design teams, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal business units.
- Support business development and preconstruction teams with pursuit efforts, client presentations, and strategic growth initiatives.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, operational efficiency, and cost reduction.
- Lead and develop high-performing project teams through coaching, mentoring, and professional development.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline preferred.
- Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience will be considered.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible construction project leadership experience.
- Significant experience managing large-scale Design-Build, EPC, mission-critical, industrial, power, utility, or infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated success overseeing complex projects through all phases of the project lifecycle.
- Strong understanding of engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project controls processes.
Technical Knowledge

- Understanding of project design development, engineering workflows, and integrated project delivery methods.
- Knowledge of construction means, methods, sequencing, and field operations.
- Familiarity with project management and scheduling software, including:
- Primavera P6 (preferred)
- Procore (preferred)
- Microsoft Office Suite
