Project Manager – HVAC / Plumbing / Process
Position Overview
The Project Manager is responsible for building and maintaining customer relationships, leading the sales and execution of HVAC, plumbing, and process-related construction projects, and coordinating field operations in collaboration with site leadership. This role serves as the primary liaison between the company and its clients, ensuring successful delivery from early planning through final completion.
This position requires strong business development capability, technical project oversight, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders while maintaining financial performance, quality standards, and customer satisfaction.
Primary Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Delivery
- Act as the central point of accountability for assigned projects, representing both the company and the customer throughout the project lifecycle
- Manage projects from conceptual engineering and estimating through proposal development, contract execution, and final turnover
- Coordinate labor planning and installation sequencing with customers and field supervision
- Lead project kickoff meetings and ongoing coordination sessions with internal teams
Financial & Contract Oversight
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and cost control strategies to maintain project profitability
- Oversee billing activities and ensure accurate job cost tracking
- Prepare and manage contracts, change orders, and formal documentation to support sound business practices and risk management
- Support procurement planning and execution strategies
Client & Stakeholder Relations
- Lead customer meetings and support contract development to secure and expand project opportunities
- Build and maintain professional relationships with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and industry partners
- Coordinate cross-functional efforts with Engineering, Purchasing, Accounting, Construction, and Service teams to meet project scope and schedules
Communication & Internal Coordination
- Collaborate regularly with management and department leadership
- Participate in project management, sales, and construction planning meetings
- Leverage internal resources effectively to meet customer and project requirements
Mentorship & Team Development
- Provide guidance and support to assigned team members
- Participate in recruiting, onboarding, training, and coaching of project and sales staff
- Contribute to internal improvement initiatives, task groups, and technical development efforts
Additional Duties
- Perform other responsibilities and special projects as assigned by leadership
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of experience in HVAC project estimating, design, and/or project management for projects ranging from $50,000 to $25+ million
- Demonstrated ability to generate new business and sustain long-term client relationships
- Strong organizational, communication, and multi-project management skills
- Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision
- High ethical standards and professional integrity
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
- Valid Class C Driver’s License and ability to travel to job sites and regional offices
Preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience with construction and business systems such as JDE, IFS, BidTracer, FastEst, Bluebeam, Box, and Smartsheet

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands for handling and operating tools or devices
- Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl during site visits
- Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally
- Vision abilities include close and distance vision
- Consistent attendance and flexibility to support extended work hours when needed
Schedule & Travel

Typical Hours: Monday–Friday, with workdays beginning as early as 6:00 AM and extending up to 7:00 PM as business needs require

Travel: Local and regional travel to offices and job sites based on operational demands
Compensation Statement
Salary Range: $121,019 – $161,359 annually
Final compensation is based on job-related skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. Total compensation may include benefits and additional incentive programs.
