Project Resource Collective is currently recruiting for a Senior Environmental Planner to support our clients operation across the Southwest (specifically Arizona and New Mexico). This role supports a nationally recognized environmental and infrastructure consulting team delivering projects across utilities, renewable energy, transportation, water resources, and public development.
This position is ideal for someone who has led NEPA documentation and is ready to take on a visible technical leadership role. You would:
• Serve as lead author on EAs, EISs, CATEXs, EIDs, and related documentation
• Manage permitting efforts and agency coordination (USACE, USFWS, BLM, etc.)
• Support proposal development, budgeting, and project management
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to business development efforts
• Work on complex projects across the Western U.S.
Qualifications
- B.S. or M.S. in Environmental Science, Planning, Biology, Anthropology, or a related field from an accredited university.
- 5-12 years of total related consulting experience, with 3-6 years of experience leading and managing technical teams, project management, and business development, focused on NEPA or CEQA compliance. This should include the successful preparation of documents as the lead author.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Time management and follow-through skills, with the ability to simultaneously work on multiple tasks/projects with tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient computer skills, including the Microsoft Office suite.
- An established and successful history executing tasks for simple and complex projects that include assisting with developing proposals and cost estimates, executing project tasks, assisting with strategic plan development, and working with private and public-sector clients.
Desired:
- Environmental compliance, permitting, and agency experience that includes consultations with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, U.S. Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Reclamation, and other local, federal, and state agencies in the Western U.S.
- Direct experience working with federally recognized tribes in the Southwest
- Proficient in ArcGIS Pro, Field Maps, and ArcGIS Online
- Familiarity with southwest sensitive species and ecology.
