Associate Engineer – Water Resources

An established civil engineering and planning firm is seeking an Associate Engineer to join its Water Resources team. This role offers a hybrid work schedule and is well suited for professionals who demonstrate initiative, technical excellence, and a commitment to continuous learning. The Associate Engineer will contribute not only through high-quality project execution but also by supporting broader team objectives and long-term growth initiatives.


Compensation: Salary range: $80,000 – $130,000


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including pipelines, pump stations, reservoirs, and treatment facilities
  • Prepare engineering plans and specifications for water and wastewater systems
  • Assist with the development of technical reports such as feasibility studies, alignment studies, preliminary design reports, and master plans
  • Perform hydraulic modeling for water distribution and sewer systems
  • Coordinate engineering activities during construction, including permitting, submittal reviews, survey coordination, and change order evaluations
  • Design mechanical-related infrastructure such as pump and lift stations, wells, and treatment facilities, including site grading plans
  • Collaborate with multiple design teams and Project Managers to support project delivery


Qualifications:

  • Ability to produce engineering drawings, layouts, sketches, maps, and graphical representations using CAD software
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a minimum of two years of related project experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Civil 3D preferred
  • Working knowledge of planning documents and construction documentation
  • Strong technical, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent assignments with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply local agency standards and communicate effectively with agencies and clients
