Data Center Project Manager
Location: New Mexico (Initial Assignment ~2 years)
Travel: Required based on project needs
Position Overview
A leading construction and engineering organization is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and financial performance of complex mission-critical construction projects, including large-scale data center developments.
This role is responsible for leading projects from early planning and design coordination through construction completion, ensuring alignment with schedule, budget, quality, and safety objectives. The Project Manager will serve as a key leader for project teams, working closely with internal stakeholders, subcontractors, and project partners to successfully deliver high-profile infrastructure projects.
The initial assignment will support a major project in New Mexico, with future opportunities to continue on additional projects either regionally or in other company markets.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Delivery
- Lead project execution from concept and preconstruction through final completion.
- Coordinate with engineering, construction, and project controls teams to ensure project scope, schedule, and technical requirements are met.
- Maintain strong oversight of project schedule milestones, deliverables, and construction progress.
- Ensure project activities are completed in accordance with company safety, quality, and operational standards.
- Mentor and guide project team members while promoting a collaborative project environment.
Financial Management & Cost Control
- Manage full project financial performance including budget development, cost forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Monitor project budgets and forecasts to ensure cost alignment with approved financial plans.
- Lead change order management, cost tracking, and variance analysis throughout the project lifecycle.
- Allocate and manage project estimates within internal financial systems.
- Provide regular updates to leadership on cost performance, schedule status, and financial projections.
- Support procurement decisions and subcontractor selection while maintaining financial discipline.
Stakeholder & Client Coordination
- Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders and on-site representatives.
- Maintain consistent communication regarding project status, risks, and key decisions.
- Support proposal preparation, pursuit activities, and contract negotiations when required.
- Foster strong relationships that support ongoing and future project opportunities.
Contract & Vendor Management
- Manage subcontractor agreements, vendor coordination, and supplier relationships.
- Oversee subcontract scope execution to ensure performance aligns with project budget and schedule.
- Support contract compliance and adherence to applicable construction and business practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

Minimum of seven (5) years of construction project management experience, preferably on large-scale or technically complex projects.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex project scopes, schedules, and financial performance.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple project priorities simultaneously.
- Working knowledge of construction contracts, risk management, and accepted industry business practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, project management software, and web-based project systems.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with a collaborative and professional approach.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as required by project assignments.
Preferred Experience
- Experience managing mission-critical facilities, large infrastructure projects, or data center construction.
- Demonstrated success leading projects with significant budget oversight, forecasting, and cost control responsibilities.
