Asset Renewal Design Manager – Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)

We are seeking an experienced Asset Renewal Design Manager to lead design management activities for multiple infrastructure renewal projects at LAX. This role oversees the design, permitting, and procurement of projects replacing end-of-life airport systems such as MEP, utilities, vertical/horizontal transportation, building enclosures, and passenger boarding bridges.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and coordinate design activities across multiple disciplines (architectural, structural, MEP, civil, utilities, and IT).
• Oversee design reviews, ensure compliance with LAWA standards, and manage stakeholder and permitting coordination.
• Lead design teams and consultants to deliver high-quality, complete, and compliant design packages.
• Support procurement and construction readiness, ensuring consistency and technical integrity across all projects.
• Monitor BIM production, design milestones, and quality control processes.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of design management experience on complex infrastructure or aviation projects.
• Strong understanding of MEP systems and airport assets.
• Experience with Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build delivery methods.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field (PE or Architect license preferred).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and familiar with CAD/Revit and project management systems.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Details:

• Full-time, on-site at LAX (Monday–Friday; after-hours/weekends as needed).
• Not a remote position.
