Fancy building the people function and strategy of a growing business in transformation?

RedGreen Partners are pleased to lead the search for an experienced HR Professional to join a high-growth, purpose-led, consumer-facing organisation at a key moment in its evolution.

Backed by private equity and scaling rapidly through new site openings and investment in professional management capability, the business is transitioning into a highly commercial, high‑performing organisation. The Head of People will sit at the heart of this transformation.

Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the board, you will own everything that touches the employee lifecycle.

The role is about delivery: building from the ground up what doesn’t yet exist, fixing what no longer scales, and embedding people practices that genuinely work in a fast-moving, operationally complex environment. A ‘hands-on’ Head of People is sought to ensure this is achieved.

About the Role

The organisation operates across multiple sites with a large, frontline‑heavy workforce with seasonal demand patterns.

You will:

  • Translate growth plans into a practical, sequenced people strategy that drives value.
  • Lead organisation design as sites, roles and layers are added.
  • Advise the CEO and board on talent, succession, people risk and organisational health.
  • Build leadership capability, particularly at line manager level.
  • Introduce fit‑for‑purpose frameworks for reward, performance and development.
  • Act as a visible cultural leader while building consistency at scale.
  • Handle complex ER matters with sound judgement and commercial realism.
  • Build and lead a high‑quality HR team and introduce systems and data that inform executive decision‑making.

About You

You’re a senior HR leader who thrives in fast‑paced, complex environments and enjoys building capability from the ground up.

You’re as confident advising at board level as you are working on site to resolve practical people issues.

You bring experience operating at Head of People / Head of HR level in a multi‑site organisation. Ideally a background in retail, leisure, hospitality or other consumer-facing sectors is advantageous, as is exposure to founder-led businesses moving into a more structured, investor-backed phase.

You’ve built HR functions, led large‑scale, seasonal and varied recruitment, designed reward frameworks where none existed, and apply UK employment law with sound commercial judgement. You understand the financial impact of people decisions and can articulate this clearly to senior stakeholders.

Hands‑on, resilient and collaborative by nature, you’ll thrive in an energetic, frontline‑focused environment. Visibility and willingness to spend time across sites is important.

What’s on Offer

  • Salary c£80,000
  • Performance-related bonus (up to 25%)
  • Participation in a long-term management incentive plan
  • Hybrid working, with regular travel to operational sites

If you are looking for a role where you can personally shape the culture, capability and performance of a growing organisation, where delivery matters more than documentation, then please apply to be considered
