Live-In Domestic Couple – Private Estate

A semi-formal, private residence in Rye, NY, is seeking an experienced, professional live-in domestic couple to join the household. The principals are a retired couple who value discretion, excellence, and a calm, positive presence in the home.

Position Overview

·    Role: Domestic Couple (two full-time positions filled by one couple – typically Housekeeper/Cook + Houseman/Driver/Maintenance)

·    Schedule: 5 days/week (2 consecutive days off, usually Sunday–Monday or Friday–Saturday; with flexibility

·    Current Staff: Housekeeper / Cook (of 20 years) who is transitioning to a Companion/Assistant role.

·    Live-in: Private, separate 2-bedroom apartment provided on the property (all utilities, Wi-Fi, cable included; no rent or housing costs)

Principal Responsibilities (shared and divided according to strengths)

Housekeeping / Laundry / Cook

·    Family-style cooking (healthy, seasonal, from-scratch meals); enjoy all cuisines, even brains.

·    Grocery shopping, pantry/refrigerator management, and meal planning

·    Housekeeping of a 7,000 sq ft

·    Detailed cleaning, organization, and care of fine antiques, artwork, silver, and crystal

·    Laundry and wardrobe care (basic ironing of pants and sheets)

·    Occasional light family-style dinner parties

Houseman / Driver / Property Care

·    Driving principals and occasional guests in family vehicles (BMW 535

·    Family/personal assistant tasks: package handling, dry-cleaning runs, vendor coordination

·    Light home maintenance and handyman skills (changing light bulbs, minor repairs, HVAC filter changes, troubleshooting appliances)

·    Oversight of outside vendors (landscaper, pool service, pest control, etc.)

·    Garage organization and car care (washing, fueling, service scheduling)

Schedule (typical when principals are in residence)

·    8:00 am – Breakfast preparation & light housekeeping

·    Morning housekeeping/laundry/errands

·    1:00 pm – Lunch service

·    Afternoon deep-cleaning projects or vendor supervision

·    6:00–7:30 pm – Dinner preparation and service

·    Evening tidy-up and lock-up

Requirements & Preferences

·    Legally able to work in the United States (both partners)

·    Minimum 5–7 years’ experience as a domestic couple or in similar private-service roles

·    Verifiable references from private homes

·    Excellent checkable background and credit history

·    Non-smokers / no pets

·    Chef-level cooking is not required, but strong home cooking and presentation skills are essential

·    One partner must be an excellent, safe driver, comfortable in the NYC metro area

Compensation & Benefits

·    Combined salary $180,000–$220,000+ per year (depending on experience)

·    Private 2-bedroom staff apartment (recently renovated, ~1,000 sq ft) with separate entrance

·    All utilities, Wi-Fi, and cable paid
