Position: Live-out Housekeeper/Cook
Location: Greenwich, CT
Schedule: Full-time, Monday – Friday, 7am – 5:30pm (Includes one day per week at family’s home in New Fairfield, CT during summer months)
Salary: $75,000 – $90,000 based on experience
Overview:
Family of five in Greenwich, CT seeks a dynamic, nurturing, experienced and skilled live-out Housekeeper to assist with the daily maintenance, general and deep cleaning of their large residence (20,000 sq ft), in addition to assisting with childcare in the mornings prior to their nanny’s arrival, and family-style cooking. The role’s primary responsibilities include full-charge housekeeping, laundry, ironing, and deep cleaning. The family employs a full-time nanny who takes care of their children (ages 13, 10 and 8). The family is very friendly and informal, and is looking for a long-term Housekeeper with great personality who can grow with them over many years. Candidate must be warm and engaging and must strive to create a fun, safe, and supportive environment for the home, as well as nurturing and trusting relationships with the children and principals.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- All aspects of general housekeeping and deep cleaning of residence, including but not limited to, vacuuming, dusting, laundry and ironing. Should have experience with the care and cleaning of fine surfaces such as delicate wood flooring, marble, china, etc.
- Organization of the residence; including closets, pantries, drawers, etc.
- Laundry for the family
- Child care duties will consist of helping get the children up and ready for school
- Cooking dinner for children 1-2 times per week and grocery shopping as needed
- Pet care: Occasional help with walking dog on the property
Requirements:
- 3-5 years minimum experience in housekeeping, cooking and childcare.
- The ideal candidate should have a demonstrated track record of longevity with their former family-employers.
- Must be a skilled organizer, be willing to learn and maintain the organization throughout the house.
- Must love to cook and be able to cook healthy meals with or without being instructed on what to make.
- Must love children and be active, attentive, patient, and caring with them.
- Must be extremely punctual and reliable to not miss work and reachable via phone during work hours.
- Must be well organized and be able to plan daily work around child care, cleaning and cooking responsibilities.
- Must be happy to become a part of the family and do everything whole heartedly and work well with the mom and nanny.
- Must have driver’s license and own transportation to get to work each day
- Must have a command of the English language.
- Must be a non-smoker.
