Commercial Glazier (Lead Hand) – Automatic Doors

About the Role:

Alpine Windows is looking for an experienced Commercial Glazier (Lead Hand) to join our Fort St. John team, with a specific focus on automatic doors. We’re open to candidates from anywhere in Canada who bring strong field experience, leadership skills, and the ability to troubleshoot and liaise with technical support teams.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead and support a small crew on commercial glazing projects, with a strong focus on automatic door systems
• Install, repair, and service commercial glazing systems including automatic doors, curtain walls, and storefronts
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in real-time, often while communicating directly with manufacturer technical support
• Interpret technical manuals and instructions to complete complex installs and repairs
• Collaborate with project managers, general contractors, and site teams to ensure quality and timelines are met
• Lift and handle heavy materials and components as required (must be comfortable with physically demanding work)

What We’re Looking For:

• 3–5+ years of commercial glazing experience, including hands-on work with automatic door systems
• Proven ability to lead a team on-site (Lead Hand or Foreman experience preferred)
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to communicate effectively with tech support and take direction
• Excellent problem-solving, time management, and communication skills
• Physically fit and comfortable with heavy lifting and working in varying site conditions
• Willingness to relocate to Fort St. John (relocation assistance provided)

Bonus if You Have:

• Certifications related to glazing, automatic doors, or construction safety (e.g. AAADM)
• Experience with low-rise commercial or institutional glazing projects
