Sales Manager/Engineer - Container Cold Stores Rental


Location: Southampton, England (with travel as required)

Salary: £50-£60k + Performance Bonus (20-30%) + Benefits


About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Sales Manager/Engineer to join our team. The role focuses on promoting and selling container cold storage rental solutions to a diverse range of clients. This is an excellent opportunity for a results-driven individual with a strong technical background in refrigeration systems to take ownership of sales development and relationship building in this niche market.


Key Responsibilities:

Sales and Business Development:

  • Identify and target potential customers in industries requiring container cold storage solutions.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to generate leads and convert them into opportunities.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, competitors, and new business opportunities.
  • Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline, updating the CRM system regularly with accurate information.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create campaigns and promotional materials that support sales efforts.

Technical Expertise:

  • Possess a thorough understanding of container cold storage systems, including refrigeration units, insulation, and temperature control.
  • Provide technical guidance to customers to identify and recommend the best solutions for their needs.
  • Conduct site visits to assess customer requirements and propose efficient solutions.
  • Work with the engineering team to design and customize solutions based on customer specifications.

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Build strong, long-lasting relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers, understanding their needs and ensuring satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular follow-ups and provide after-sales support, including troubleshooting and maintenance advice.
  • Address customer concerns promptly and professionally.

Sales Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare regular sales reports, including forecasts, pipeline updates, and performance metrics.
  • Analyze market trends and customer feedback to identify growth opportunities.
  • Provide recommendations to the management team to enhance sales strategies.

Internal Compliance and Development:

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and ethical standards, as well as industry regulations.
  • Participate in training and development programs to stay updated on industry trends and products.
  • Align personal performance with business goals and participate in feedback and development processes.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Qualification or applied experience in engineering or a related field is an advantage.
  • Proven experience in sales, ideally within the container cold storage or refrigeration industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of refrigeration systems and container cold storage solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for relationship building and negotiation.
  • Self-motivated, target-driven, and experienced in meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver’s license and eligibility to work in the UK.
