Temporary Test Technician

Location: Loughborough

Contract: Temporary, approximately 3 months

Pay Rate: £14.50 to £15.50 per hour

Hours:

• Monday to Thursday 07:00 to 15:30
• Friday 07:00 to 12:30
• Weekend overtime required on occasions, Saturday paid at time and a half, Sunday paid at double time

The Company

Our client is an established electronics manufacturing business specialising in the production of high reliability printed circuit boards and electronic assemblies. Operating within a structured production environment, they support customers with consistent, quality driven manufacturing and testing services.

The Role

An experienced Test Technician is required to support production on a temporary basis for approximately three months.

This is a hands on, manual testing role focused on testing manufactured electronic boards. It is not an engineering position and does not involve fault finding. The work will involve testing the same product repeatedly, so consistency, focus and attention to detail are essential.

This role requires someone with genuine, time served testing experience in a production environment. It is not suitable for a graduate or someone newly qualified.

Key Responsibilities

• Testing manufactured electronic PCBs and sub assemblies
• Ensuring all manufacturing and test activities meet customer specifications and internal quality standards
• Performing manual testing operations in strict accordance with established procedures
• Inspecting assemblies and route cards to ensure all operations are completed and correctly documented
• Handling components carefully to minimise loss or damage
• Communicating clearly with colleagues and escalating issues to the Production Supervisor or Manager
• Maintaining high standards of housekeeping within the test area
• Adhering to ESD standards and procedures at all times

Skills & Experience Required

• Minimum 2 to 3 years’ proven experience testing electronic boards in a production environment
• Hands on experience using oscilloscopes, multi meters, function generators and similar test equipment
• Familiarity with high voltage test equipment
• Experience testing PCBs and sub assemblies manually, no automated test equipment involved
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Strong knowledge of ESD precautions
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Well organised and able to manage repetitive tasks effectively
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Committed to Health and Safety standards
• Willing and available to work weekend overtime when required

Additional Information

This is a repetitive testing role requiring focus, reliability and consistency. No fault finding will be required. The successful candidate must be comfortable carrying out structured manual testing within a production setting.
