As a member of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador and Gymnastics Canada, GNL supports the growth, participation, and success of gymnastics across the province.

What You’ll Do

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will lead GNL through an exciting period of growth and transformation. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of gymnastics in Newfoundland and Labrador, guiding programs, events, finances, and stakeholder relationships with vision and purpose.

You will play a pivotal role in building trust, uniting the gymnastics community, and fostering collaboration across clubs, members, and partners, while ensuring GNL operates transparently, effectively, and in full compliance. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to make a lasting impact—enhancing programs that inspire athletes, coaches, and members alike, and cultivating a culture that reflects GNL’s mission and vision: leading gymnastics in Newfoundland and Labrador through quality programs that spark a lifelong love of sport.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee budgets, reporting, and funding to ensure transparency and alignment with organizational priorities.

Membership & Communications:

  • Grow and nurture relationships with members, clubs, and partners while managing membership databases, registrations, and public inquiries.

Programs & Events:

  • Deliver exceptional competitions, training initiatives, and development programs with seamless planning and execution.

Staff Management:

  • Recruit, lead, and develop staff while promoting a positive, accountable, and collaborative workplace.

Board & Committee Support:

  • Drive effective governance and informed decision-making by preparing reports, attending Board and committee meetings, managing logistics, and chairing the Operations Council.

Administration:

  • Manage office operations, contracts, insurance, inventory, and resources to ensure smooth and efficient organizational functioning.

Standard business hours for this position are Monday to Friday, 8:30am-4:00pm. There is potential overtime pay for work outside of regular hours during major event weekends or while hosting large-scale competitions. Some travel may be required within the province.

What You’ll Bring

  • Nonprofit Leadership: Proven experience in nonprofit management or a related field, with a track record of driving organizational change.

  • Financial Expertise: Strong skills in budgeting, payroll, and financial reporting.

  • Communication & Stakeholder Management: Excellent ability to build trust and maintain positive relationships.

  • Program & Event Coordination: Experience planning and delivering successful programs and events.

  • Team Leadership: Effective in supervising staff, fostering collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.

  • Adaptability: Skilled at managing diverse responsibilities and responding to evolving organizational needs.

  • Passion for Sport & Community: Committed to promoting sports, physical development, and community engagement.
