The Role

The company is hiring a Director or Senior Director of Retention & Lifecycle Marketing to own the customer journey. Reporting to the VP of Growth & Lifecycle, this critical role will lead retention, loyalty, and reactivation strategy across channels including email, SMS, lead capture, and referral. The team currently consists of one email specialist and an outside lifecycle agency partner, with room to grow. This is a hands-on, build-and-run role. You'll set the strategy and get into the details of segmentation, flows, and testing.

What You'll Do

  • Lead retention revenue economics, including cohort retention, repeat purchase rate, LTV, churn, and program-level revenue, and use that data to implement strategies that drive cross-category purchase and customer LTV.
  • Own the lifecycle roadmap (email, SMS, loyalty, subscriptions, and retention campaigns) end to end, from strategy through execution.
  • Manage people and partners, including one direct report and the day-to-day output and roadmap of a lifecycle marketing agency.
  • Partner cross-functionally with DTC, creative, brand, engineering, and analytics teams to align lifecycle messaging with the broader marketing calendar and product launches.
  • Run a continuous testing program across subject lines, send times, offers, and flow logic.
  • Uphold brand and compliance standards in all lifecycle copy, including health and efficacy claims.

What You'll Bring

  • 5–8 years of lifecycle, CRM, or retention marketing experience, ideally in DTC or e-commerce
  • A track record of using data to drive retention and LTV, not just campaign output
  • Hands-on Klaviyo expertise (segmentation, flows, deliverability) and familiarity with Shopify
  • Experience managing people and/or agency partners
  • Strong project management skills and comfort owning a roadmap independently
  • Excellent, precise writing and editing skills
