About the Role

We’re looking for a hands-on, full-stack Head of Design to help bring a major new product to life. You’ll lead design for our next-generation app at the intersection of AI, coaching, and metabolic health—working directly with our CEO and a small, scrappy team.


You’ll do it all: user research, UX flows, high-fidelity designs, prototyping, AI feature spec’ing, writing microcopy, and helping plan experiments. You’ll balance ambitious ideas with practical shipping, building simple, effective experiences that meet user needs and business goals.

This is a “player-coach” role: you must love doing the work yourself, not just leading it.


What You'll Do

  • Own the end-to-end design of our new product: research, UX, UI, prototyping, visual design, specifications.
  • Develop deep user understanding and apply it to everything you build.
  • Work closely with the CEO and engineers to prioritize, spec, and ship high-quality features.
  • Define and test genAI-powered product experiences.
  • Create polished, usable, beautiful interfaces in Figma.
  • Write user-facing copy (onboarding, prompts, notifications, etc.).
  • Plan and validate experiments and analytics tracking.
  • Adapt fast, balancing vision with real-world constraints.

Who We’re Looking For

  • You are located in and authorized to work in the U.S.
  • You are an experienced startup product designer who has worked across research, UX, and visual design.
  • You have a strong portfolio showing end-to-end work and measurable impact on building mobile consumer subscription products.
  • You love building early-stage products and can handle ambiguity, speed, and change.
  • You are fluent in Figma and prototyping tools (Play, Framer, etc.). Bonus if you know Lottie, Rive, or Spline.
  • You’re excited about using AI tools in product development and design.
  • You are proactive, resourceful, flexible, and always learning.

This is not the right role for you if:

  • You prefer only leading teams instead of doing hands-on design work yourself.
  • You need a big team or big-company structure to thrive.
  • You’re not comfortable working quickly and independently in a startup environment.

Compensation

The salary for the Head of Design role will be determined based on where we position you in our design career path.

The average starting salary will be between $150,000 and $200,000, with adjustments based on your location.


We apply geographic differentials to ensure pay reflects cost of living—so salaries are typically higher in places like San Francisco or New York, and lower in smaller or more affordable markets. Your final offer will depend on where you live, your experience, the interview process, equity with other team members and market benchmarks.
