Director of Experiential & Programming
3i Members · New York, NY · Full-Time · In-Office (5 days/week)
About 3i Members
3i is a rapidly growing, invitation-only community of private investors sharing deals, insights, and contacts. With a focus on alternative and off-market deal flow, shared benefits, and investor services, 3i serves as a kitchen table around which highly engaged family offices and private allocators can discuss and debate compelling, unexpected opportunities in emerging sectors.
The Role
3i is seeking a Director of Experiential & Programming to own the creative strategy and execution of its member events and programming experience. This is a senior leadership role for someone who thinks like an executive producer — someone who can envision what an event should feel like before a single detail is booked.
You will work closely with regional directors and the executive team to translate member insights, industry and cultural trends, and community interests into thematic programming that is sharp, purposeful, and worth clearing a calendar for. You will manage a team of three senior event coordinators who handle venue sourcing, logistics, and execution — allowing you to focus on creative direction, content themes, speaker sourcing, and overall program outcomes.
This is not about executing to a checklist. It is about building a programming identity for one of the most engaged private investor communities.
This role is based full-time in our New York City office near Madison Square Park and reports to the SVP of Brand & Marketing.
What You'll Do
Creative Strategy & Programming
- Develop the creative vision and programming strategy for 3i's full event calendar, ensuring cohesion across formats and regions in partnership with regional directors
- Conceptualize event and programming themes, narratives, and positioning — not designing assets, but defining what they need to communicate
- Curate speaker and content programming across roundtables, educational series, and large-format events
- Ensure events reinforce and deepen the member connections within the community — programming should feel connected, not episodic
Event Production & Execution
- Own end-to-end production of 3i's signature events, including 8-person intimate roundtable dinners, 10–15 person regional gatherings (10–15 per quarter), speaker series of 100+, and the annual New York summit (400+ attendees)
- Conceptualize and produce dinners and private gatherings designed to deepen relationships with prospective and existing members; bring hospitality instincts and an eye for detail to high-trust, high-caliber settings
- Partner with regional directors to shape local event programming that reflects both global brand identity and city-specific character
- Manage pre-event briefings, run-of-show development, and post-event debrief processes to continuously raise the bar
Team & Cross-Functional Leadership
- Manage and develop a team of three senior event coordinators responsible for logistics, venue sourcing, and vendor relationships
- Serve as a confident, polished representative of 3i in member-facing settings; this membership includes former founders post-exit, family office principals, and fund managers
- Collaborate with the content and marketing teams to ensure event programming generates shareable, lasting value beyond the room
What We're Looking For
- An executive producer or creative director sensibility: you think in outcomes, narratives, and room energy — not just logistics
- Demonstrated experience producing intimate, high-touch gatherings — client dinners, private events, roundtables — where the details matter and the audience is discerning
- Comfort interfacing directly with high-caliber, time-scarce professionals; you are polished, well-prepared, and know how to hold a room without dominating it
- Experience managing a small team and being accountable for both creative vision and operational excellence
- Genuine enthusiasm about building community — not just producing events, but using events as an instrument for something larger
- New York City-based with the ability to work in-office five days per week and travel as needed for regional events
Compensation & Location
- Base salary: $150,000 – $180,000, commensurate with experience
- Performance bonus
- New York City (in-office, 5 days/week)
