Overview

A mission-driven technology company operating in a complex and emotionally nuanced space is seeking a strategic, high craft Designer to lead presentation design and executive storytelling efforts.

This is not a production-only deck role. This position sits at the intersection of design, strategy, and business communication. The ideal candidate does not simply execute slides but actively shapes the narrative, determines what information matters most, and translates complex ideas into clear, compelling visual stories.

You will support both external partner presentations and internal executive communications, working closely with cross-functional stakeholders to elevate clarity, impact, and craft across high-visibility materials.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the design of strategic presentation decks for external partners and stakeholders
  • Support executive and board-level communications with clear, high-polish visual storytelling
  • Translate complex data, product concepts, and business narratives into structured, visually compelling slides
  • Identify and prioritize key statistics and insights, shaping how information is framed and delivered
  • Build scalable presentation templates and systems to enable internal teams to self-serve while maintaining brand consistency
  • Contribute to internal communications and adjacent design needs beyond decks when appropriate
  • Uphold a high standard of craft, including thoughtful white space, typography, hierarchy, and clarity

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in design, with strong experience in executive-level presentation work
  • Demonstrated ability to influence narrative structure, not just visual layout
  • Strong data visualization skills with the ability to simplify complex information
  • Experience designing high-visibility decks for leadership, board, or external stakeholders
  • Systems-oriented thinker comfortable building templates and scalable frameworks
  • Detail-oriented and comfortable working in regulated, sensitive, or complex product environments
  • Fluent in Google Slides and Figma

What This Role Is Not

  • Not a PowerPoint production role
  • Not purely conceptual brand campaign work
  • Not a deck-only position without broader design exposure
  • Candidates must be comfortable contributing strategically, influencing storytelling decisions, and designing beyond surface-level execution.

Work Environment

This company operates across multiple audiences and stakeholders, requiring thoughtful communication and high emotional intelligence. The design team values clarity over clutter, restraint over noise, and strategy over flash.

Logistics

  • Remote, United States only
  • W2 with benefits 40 hrs per week
  • $80 - $88/hr based on experience
  • Candidates must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. and located within the United States
  • We are not able to sponsor visas at this time
  • Preference for candidates based in NYC, SF, or Seattle hubs
  • Lean interview process two rounds
