The Art Director will work closely with cross-functional partners including creative leads, designers, production teams, and external vendors to ensure the environment is visually compelling, emotionally resonant, and executable at scale. This is a hands-on leadership role that balances big-picture thinking with detailed execution.

Responsibilities

  • Own and define the visual and artistic direction for an immersive, story-driven physical environment
  • Translate narrative concepts, themes, and IP into spatial design systems, visual languages, and environmental storytelling
  • Develop mood boards, visual references, style guides, and concept decks to align internal teams and external partners
  • Oversee and guide designers, fabricators, and production partners to ensure creative consistency and quality
  • Collaborate closely with creative leadership, production, and technical teams to align vision with real-world constraints
  • Review and provide feedback on design assets including environments, graphics, lighting concepts, and physical builds
  • Maintain creative integrity throughout execution while adapting to evolving scope, timelines, and production realities
  • Act as a creative problem-solver when challenges arise during fabrication, installation, or iteration phases

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience as an Art Director on experiential, immersive, or large-scale environmental projects
  • Strong ability to translate abstract ideas, stories, or IP into tangible physical experiences
  • Deep visual taste and a strong point of view across color, typography, materials, and spatial composition
  • Comfortable leading creative teams while collaborating closely with production and technical partners
  • Experience working through ambiguity and adapting creative direction as projects evolve
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate creative intent to both creative and non-creative stakeholders

Nice to Have

  • Background in themed entertainment, exhibitions, installations, or large-scale brand experiences
  • Experience working with fabrication partners and understanding physical production processes
  • Familiarity with collaborating across disciplines such as lighting, sound, motion, and interactive elements
