Senior Lifecycle Strategist
Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior Lifecycle Strategist to lead the lifecycle strategy in partnership with the Lifecycle Director for an assigned area of the main product ecosystem, developing programs that drive player engagement, retention, monetization, and long-term player value. This person will develop a deep understanding of our players and their journeys, identify opportunities across key lifecycle moments, and translate business priorities and player insights into cohesive lifecycle strategies. The ideal candidate is a strong strategic thinker who can operate with a high degree of ownership, move quickly in a fast-paced environment, use data to develop a clear point of view, and partner cross-functionally to bring strategies to life.
What You’ll Do
Own Lifecycle Strategy
- Own the lifecycle strategy and roadmap for an assigned area of the ecosystem.
- Translate the product business, product, and seasonal priorities into actionable lifecycle strategies and programs.
- Proactively identify opportunities to drive player engagement, retention, monetization, and long-term value.
- Develop clear strategic recommendations based on player behavior, business priorities, and performance insights.
- Serve as the lifecycle subject matter expert for your area of ownership.
Build Player Journeys
- Develop strategies across key player states, including new, active, purchasing, high-value, disengaging, and lapsed players.
- Determine the right audiences, messages, moments, and experiences across the player journey.
- Connect individual campaigns and touchpoints into cohesive lifecycle experiences.
- Identify opportunities for evergreen and always-on programs that extend beyond individual campaigns or seasons.
Drive Audience Strategy & Personalization
- Develop audience and segmentation strategies based on player behavior, lifecycle stage, interests, and business objectives.
- Identify opportunities to create increasingly relevant and behavior-driven player experiences.
- Partner with Analytics, Data Science, and platform teams to evolve targeting and personalization capabilities.
- Help move lifecycle programs from broad communications toward more dynamic and personalized experiences.
Lead Experimentation & Measurement
- Establish clear objectives, hypotheses, KPIs, and measurement plans for lifecycle programs.
- Partner with Analytics and Data Science to understand the incremental impact of lifecycle programs on key outcomes, including player engagement and revenue.
- Use experimentation and performance insights to determine what should be optimized, scaled, or stopped.
- Translate learnings into recommendations for future programs and strategies.
Lead Cross-Functional Strategy
- Serve as the primary lifecycle strategy partner for the assigned areas.
- Partner closely with Product, Marketing, Analytics, Data Science, Creative, and other cross-functional teams.
- Influence stakeholders and advocate for lifecycle opportunities throughout planning and execution.
- Navigate ambiguity and changing priorities while maintaining a clear strategic point of view.
- Bring a player-first perspective to broader business discussions.
Drive Scale, Automation & Innovation
- Identify opportunities to make lifecycle programs more evergreen, automated, reusable, and scalable.
- Partner with Operations, Product, Engineering, and platform teams to reduce manual processes and improve speed to market.
- Identify opportunities for triggered journeys, dynamic experiences, reusable frameworks, and AI-assisted workflows.
- Help evolve lifecycle marketing from campaign-by-campaign execution toward always-on, behavior-driven player experiences.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong experience in lifecycle marketing, CRM, growth marketing, engagement, retention, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience independently owning strategy and developing lifecycle programs across complex customer or player journeys.
- Strong understanding of segmentation, personalization, experimentation, and lifecycle measurement.
- Ability to translate customer/player behavior, data, and business objectives into clear strategies and recommendations.
- Strong analytical mindset and comfort using data to identify opportunities and evaluate performance.
- Ability to move quickly, prioritize effectively, and adapt to changing business needs.
- Strong strategic thinking combined with a willingness to get into the details and drive work forward.
- Excellent cross-functional leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to influence and drive alignment without direct authority.
- Comfortable operating independently and navigating ambiguity.
- Experience partnering across Product, Analytics, Data Science, Creative, Engineering, and Marketing teams.
- Experience in gaming, entertainment, consumer technology, e-commerce, marketplaces, or another high-engagement consumer business is a plus.
Working in a Live-Service Environment
This is a global, always-evolving live-service experience. Priorities and player needs can move quickly, and this role requires the flexibility and agility to respond when needed. Occasional work outside of standard business hours may be required to support major launches, live events, or other time-sensitive business needs.
