HSE Manager – Solar & BESS Project

Location: Scotland (with potential travel to other UK sites)

Day Rate: Competitive – Outside IR35

Contract: 3-month initial contract – highly likely to extend

H9 Talent Solutions is recruiting on behalf of a leading renewable energy contractor for an experienced HSE Manager to support a major Solar & BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) project in Scotland.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead on all Health, Safety & Environmental matters for the project site.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, company policies, and industry best practices.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
• Provide guidance and support to site teams to maintain a strong safety culture.
• Produce and review HSE documentation, reports, and incident investigations.
• Liaise with client representatives, subcontractors, and relevant authorities.
• Support and influence safe systems of work and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as Principal Contractor (PC) on large-scale Solar & BESS projects.
• Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations and UK HSE legislation.
• NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) preferred.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Willingness to travel to other project sites if required.
