About the Opportunity
H9 Talent Solutions are recruiting for an experienced Commercial Manager to join the project team on the Hinkley Point C (HPC) development — one of the UK’s most significant infrastructure projects.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded professional to lead all commercial and contractual aspects of a large, complex engineering project, ensuring compliance, cost control, and effective management of subcontractors and client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and administer project contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
- Prepare and submit payment applications and monitor entitlement to ensure timely recovery.
- Identify, evaluate, and manage project changes, variations, and compensation events.
- Develop and maintain cost forecasts, budgets, and regular financial reports.
- Lead risk management activities and ensure mitigation plans are in place.
- Support procurement activities, including requisitions, tendering, and subcontract management.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Facilitate commercial meetings and provide updates on project progress.
- Prepare reports and support senior management with commercial insights.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in Commercial and Contract Management, ideally within large-scale construction, engineering, or energy projects.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated experience in budget control and cost reporting.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related discipline (Master’s or MBA desirable).
- Valid CCNSG Safety Passport or HS&E test certification.
- Eligible to work in the UK and able to obtain BPSS and DBS clearance.
Project Details
- Location: Hinkley Point C, Somerset
- Reporting To: Project Director (within the Project Controls function)
- Duration: Through to approx. mid-2027
- Pattern: 10 days on / 4 days off, 10-hour shifts (subject to project needs)
- Allowances:
- Accommodation allowance per night worked (for candidates living more than 40 miles from site)
- Monthly travel time and rail fare reimbursement during designated long weekends (PAYE basis only)
