Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Planner to support the delivery of a major new build Thermal Power Station project in Teesside. This is a high-profile infrastructure project requiring strong planning expertise, stakeholder coordination, and the ability to manage complex schedules across multiple disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and manage integrated project schedules using industry-standard planning tools (e.g., Primavera P6 or MS Project)
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure alignment of project timelines
- Monitor project progress against baseline schedules and identify potential delays or risks
- Perform critical path analysis and provide mitigation strategies to maintain key milestones
- Prepare and present regular progress reports, dashboards, and schedule updates to senior stakeholders
- Support change management processes, including schedule impact assessments
- Ensure compliance with project controls procedures and reporting standards
- Collaborate with contractors and suppliers to ensure accurate schedule integration
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Project Planner on large-scale infrastructure, energy, or industrial projects
- Strong working knowledge of planning software such as Primavera P6 (preferred) or equivalent
- Experience working on power generation or major construction projects is highly desirable
- Solid understanding of project controls, scheduling methodologies, and risk management
- Ability to interpret engineering and construction data into structured project plans
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail
Qualifications:
- Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field (preferred)
- Professional membership (e.g., APM, PMI) is advantageous but not essential
Contract Details:
- 6-month contract with potential for extension

- Site-based role in Teesside with possible hybrid flexibility depending on project phase
