Job Title – Investment Associate

Overview

H9 Talent Solutions are hiring an Investment Associate to work at our clients clean energy investment business in London where you will be responsible for sourcing, structuring, execution and management of sustainable infrastructure investments, from initial origination through to financial close and ongoing asset oversight


Role and Responsibilities:

Deal Origination & Screening

·       Support identification and evaluation of new investment opportunities across relevant sectors—bioenergy, carbon management, EfW, solar, and other renewables.

Financial Analysis & Modeling

·       Build and maintain detailed financial models (e.g., project finance structure, revenue, costs, IRR, DSCR, cash flow) for investment evaluation and sensitivity testing.

Investment Memos & Documentation

·       Prepare investment committee materials, including comprehensive investment memos, market analysis, and risk/return assessments.

Due Diligence Coordination

·       Assist with execution of due diligence across legal, technical, commercial, and regulatory dimensions in collaboration with external advisors.

Transaction Execution Support

·       Work closely with internal and external counsel and advisory partners to support negotiation, documentation, and closing phases.

Post-Investment Asset Monitoring

·       Track performance, support board-level reporting, and help manage asset life-cycle issues including operational performance and strategic enhancements.

Sector Research & Market Insight

·       Monitor relevant market trends, regulatory developments, and emerging technologies (e.g. carbon capture, biomethane, solar) to inform investment strategy—building on recent involvement in renewable energy deals



Experience and Qualifications

·       Minimum 3 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, project finance, infrastructure finance, or strategic consulting—preferably with exposure to sustainable energy or infrastructure sectors.

·       Proficiency in financial modeling (project finance, discounted cash flow), Excel, and PowerPoint.

·       Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, including investor reporting.

·       Demonstrated interest in low-carbon infrastructure, renewable energy technologies, and ESG principles.

·       Proven ability to work across multidisciplinary teams, manage multiple workstreams, and engage with external advisors.

·       Undergraduate or graduate degree in finance, economics, engineering, environmental studies, or related field; CFA, CIIA or similar credentials are a plus.
