About the Opportunity
We are supporting the delivery of a major US power generation programme connected to next-generation AI and hyperscale data centre infrastructure.
This project represents one of the most significant thermal power developments currently underway in North America and will require experienced EPC professionals with a strong background in utility-scale power generation and complex industrial construction.
We are seeking an experienced EPC Project Manager to support the successful delivery of a large-scale thermal power generation facility involving utility boilers, steam turbine systems and major balance of plant infrastructure.
The Role
The EPC Project Manager will play a key leadership role in the planning and execution of a major power generation project, supporting overall project delivery across engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning activities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing contractors and ensuring project execution is delivered safely, on schedule and within budget.
This role requires a strong background in thermal power generation projects and previous experience managing large EPC programmes within complex industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day EPC execution activities across engineering, procurement and construction workstreams
- Coordinate project delivery teams, contractors, subcontractors and technical stakeholders
- Support development and execution of project schedules, budgets and resource plans
- Monitor project performance against key milestones, cost and quality targets
- Ensure safe execution of all construction and commissioning activities
- Manage contractor performance, interface coordination and issue resolution
- Support procurement activities, vendor management and equipment delivery schedules
- Oversee project reporting, progress tracking and risk management processes
- Assist with contract administration, change management and commercial controls
- Support commissioning, startup and handover activities for power generation systems
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management or related discipline
- 10–15+ years’ experience within power generation, energy infrastructure or major industrial EPC projects
- Proven experience managing large-scale EPC projects within thermal power generation
- Strong understanding of:
- Utility boilers
- Steam turbine generators
- Balance of plant systems
- Thermal / steam-cycle power generation
- EPC project delivery methodology
- Experience managing projects or work packages valued above $100 million
- Strong knowledge of construction execution, scheduling and project controls
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams
- Strong commercial awareness and contractor management capability
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Experience
- Experience supporting projects above 500MW generation capacity
- Background with major EPC contractors, OEMs or utility operators
- Experience within fast-track industrial, LNG, petrochemical or data centre infrastructure projects
- Knowledge of commissioning and startup processes for thermal generation facilities
- PMP certification or equivalent preferred
