About the Role
H9 Talent Solutions are supporting a leading contractor in the construction and industrial sector to recruit an experienced HSE Advisor for a large-scale industrial project. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-profile project and play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide on-site HSE support to project teams, ensuring compliance with current health, safety, and environmental legislation.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety observations, identifying hazards and implementing corrective actions.
- Deliver toolbox talks, site inductions, and safety briefings to employees and subcontractors.
- Review and support the development of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
- Monitor and report on HSE performance, including incidents, near misses, and corrective actions.
- Lead or assist with incident investigations, ensuring root cause analysis and preventive measures are implemented.
- Promote a positive safety culture and ensure workforce engagement in HSE initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and client expectations.
- Coordinate emergency preparedness activities, including drills and response planning.
- Liaise with site management, subcontractors, and external stakeholders on all HSE matters.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an HSE Advisor within construction, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and industry best practices.
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) is essential.
- Relevant CSCS card (or equivalent) is desirable.
- Experience with high-risk activities such as lifting operations, confined spaces, and work at height.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
