Job Title: HSE Advisor

About the Role

H9 Talent Solutions are supporting a leading contractor in the construction and industrial sector to recruit an experienced HSE Advisor for a large-scale industrial project. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-profile project and play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance on site.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site HSE support to project teams, ensuring compliance with current health, safety, and environmental legislation.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety observations, identifying hazards and implementing corrective actions.
  • Deliver toolbox talks, site inductions, and safety briefings to employees and subcontractors.
  • Review and support the development of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Monitor and report on HSE performance, including incidents, near misses, and corrective actions.
  • Lead or assist with incident investigations, ensuring root cause analysis and preventive measures are implemented.
  • Promote a positive safety culture and ensure workforce engagement in HSE initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and client expectations.
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness activities, including drills and response planning.
  • Liaise with site management, subcontractors, and external stakeholders on all HSE matters.


Requirements

  • Proven experience as an HSE Advisor within construction, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environments.
  • Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and industry best practices.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) is essential.
  • Relevant CSCS card (or equivalent) is desirable.
  • Experience with high-risk activities such as lifting operations, confined spaces, and work at height.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
