Job Title: Project Planner

Location: Kent

Contract: 6 months contract (Outside IR35)


Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Project Planner to join the delivery team on a major energy infrastructure project in Kent. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and maintaining project schedules, ensuring alignment with project milestones and objectives. This role is critical in supporting project controls, progress reporting, and ensuring efficient execution of works on site.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using appropriate planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and site teams to ensure accurate planning and progress tracking.
  • Identify critical paths, risks, and schedule constraints, proposing mitigation strategies where required.
  • Support the integration of subcontractor and supplier schedules into the overall project plan.
  • Monitor progress against baseline schedules, producing variance analysis and forecasting.
  • Generate regular progress and performance reports for the project team and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to project controls by coordinating planning data with cost, resource, and risk management processes.
  • Participate in project meetings, providing planning expertise and updates.
  • Ensure planning processes are aligned with company procedures and industry best practices.


Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience as a Project Planner within large-scale industrial, construction, or energy projects.
  • Proficiency in planning tools such as Primavera P6 (essential) and MS Project.
  • Strong understanding of project controls, scheduling techniques, and resource planning.
  • Experience with LNG, oil & gas, or power generation projects (desirable).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, able to present complex planning data clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multi-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment.
