Civil Quantity Surveyor – Energy from Waste Project

Location: Essex

Contract: 12 Months

IR35 Status: Outside IR35


H9 Talent Solutions are supporting the appointment of an experienced Civil Quantity Surveyor for the EPC contractor on a major new build Energy from Waste project based in Essex. This is a long-term contract opportunity working on a high-value industrial infrastructure project during a key phase of construction delivery.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for the commercial management of civil engineering and groundworks packages, supporting the successful delivery of major infrastructure and structural works on-site.


Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial management of civil engineering and construction packages throughout the project lifecycle
  • Administration and management of subcontract agreements
  • Measurement, valuation and cost control of civil and structural works
  • Assessment and agreement of variations, change orders and compensation events
  • Supporting procurement activities including tender analysis and subcontract awards
  • Preparation and submission of interim valuations and payment applications
  • Monitoring subcontractor accounts, performance and final accounts
  • Cost forecasting, budgeting and financial reporting
  • Supporting risk management and commercial governance processes
  • Liaising with construction, engineering and planning teams to ensure commercial objectives are achieved
  • Ensuring contractual compliance and accurate project documentation


Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Civil Quantity Surveyor on major construction, infrastructure, industrial or energy projects
  • Strong background managing civils, groundworks, reinforced concrete, structural or infrastructure packages
  • Previous experience within Energy from Waste, power generation, heavy industrial or similar complex construction environments is highly desirable
  • Good working knowledge of NEC and/or FIDIC contracts
  • Ability to manage subcontract packages independently
  • Strong commercial acumen and reporting capability
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Degree qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or Civil Engineering preferred
