Role: Senior Project Buyer
Location: Minneapolis, MN
Salary: $100,000-$130,000 per annum
H9 Talent Solutions are currently partnering with a major EPC contractor in the US renewable energy sector in the recruitment of a Senior Project Buyer on a permanent direct hire basis.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Purchase items and services at the most favourable price consistent with quality, quantity, specification requirements, and other factors.
· Propose purchase transactions that higher authority approve prior to final action.
· Arrange returns for unacceptable products to suppliers.
· Track order status from the time of placing the order until delivery and communicate status to project teams.
· Facilitate and run meetings internally and externally.
· Enter purchase agreements and retain contact with suppliers to ensure delivery of material on a timely basis.
· Enter purchase orders and retain contact with suppliers to ensure delivery of material on a timely basis.
· Visit job sites or offices annually at a minimum to develop more effective working relationships.
· Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, construction management, or related discipling or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience
· 5 years of procurement experience and/or experience in a similar role
· Knowledge of construction processes, equipment, and materials, purchasing processes, and procedures (preferred)
· Project Management experience (preferred)
· Understanding of the construction industry (preferred)
· Negotiating, organizing, planning, verbal, and communication skills
· Strong customer service and analytical skills
· Active listening skills and effective communication including openness to diverse input and feedback
