We are seeking an experienced Lead HV Commissioning & Protection Engineer to lead commissioning and protection activities across HV substations, power systems and grid infrastructure.

Role & Responsibilities

• Lead HV commissioning and electrical testing activities.
• Commission HV switchgear, transformers, protection and control systems.
• Review protection settings, schemes and coordination.
• Carry out primary and secondary injection testing.
• Troubleshoot complex protection and control issues.
• Lead and mentor commissioning engineers.
• Support energisation, fault investigations and handover.
• Produce commissioning reports and ensure compliance with relevant standards and client requirements.

Skills & Qualifications

• Proven HV Commissioning / Protection Engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of HV power systems and protection schemes.
• Experience with protection relays and test equipment.
• Substation, transmission, distribution or industrial power experience.
• Knowledge of IEC 61850 and UK grid standards advantageous.
• Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
• Strong leadership and client-facing communication skills.
