Overview
H9 Talent Solutions are recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a leading EPC contractor delivering a major Energy from Waste (EfW) facility in the South East. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a high-value infrastructure project, supporting the commercial management of engineering, construction, and installation activities throughout the project lifecycle.
The successful candidate will play a key role in cost control, contract administration, subcontract management, and commercial reporting, ensuring the project is delivered safely, efficiently, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage commercial and contractual activities across EPC work packages from pre-construction through to final account.
- Administer and manage NEC3/NEC4 contracts, ensuring compliance with contract terms, processes, and timescales.
- Prepare, submit, and negotiate valuations, variations, compensation events, and change controls.
- Lead cost reporting, cost forecasting, cashflow analysis, and value reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support procurement activities including tendering, bid evaluation, subcontract negotiation, and award recommendations.
- Monitor project progress, assess commercial impacts, and identify risks and opportunities.
- Conduct subcontractor reviews, performance monitoring, and payment recommendation processes.
- Work closely with engineering, planning, project management, and construction teams to maintain accurate commercial insight.
- Assist with claims preparation, dispute resolution, and commercial risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensure records, documentation, and reporting are completed in line with company and EPC standards.
Experience & Skills Required
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within EPC, process plant, heavy industrial, or power sector environments.
- Previous exposure to Energy from Waste, power generation, or complex infrastructure projects is highly advantageous.
- Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts (Options A, C, and E).
- Excellent financial and commercial management skills, including cost reporting and forecasting.
- Confident negotiating with subcontractors, suppliers, and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret engineering and construction data.
- Proficient with MS Excel and commercial management systems.
- Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or related discipline.
