Job Title: Health & Safety Advisor

Location: Kent

Contract: 6 month contract (Outside IR35)


Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Health & Safety Advisor to support site activities on a major energy infrastructure project in Kent. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with legislation, and supporting project teams in achieving HSE excellence across all phases of site works.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide HSE support and guidance to project management, site teams, and contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with UK health, safety, and environmental legislation, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure effective controls are in place.
  • Support the development and implementation of site-specific HSE plans and method statements.
  • Lead and participate in incident investigations, ensuring root causes are identified and corrective actions are implemented.
  • Promote and drive a positive health and safety culture across the project.
  • Deliver toolbox talks, inductions, and HSE training sessions as required.
  • Maintain accurate HSE records, reporting, and documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
  • Act as a point of contact for regulators, client representatives, and contractors on HSE matters.


Experience & Skills

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum) or equivalent in Occupational Health & Safety.
  • Proven experience as an HSE Advisor on large industrial, construction, or energy projects.
  • Strong understanding of UK HSE regulations and industry best practices.
  • Experience in LNG, oil & gas, or power generation projects (advantageous).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Strong organisational skills with a proactive, results-driven approach.
  • Competent in preparing reports, maintaining records, and delivering presentations/training.
