Job Title: Health & Safety Advisor
Location: Kent
Contract: 6 month contract (Outside IR35)
Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Health & Safety Advisor to support site activities on a major energy infrastructure project in Kent. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with legislation, and supporting project teams in achieving HSE excellence across all phases of site works.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide HSE support and guidance to project management, site teams, and contractors.
- Ensure compliance with UK health, safety, and environmental legislation, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure effective controls are in place.
- Support the development and implementation of site-specific HSE plans and method statements.
- Lead and participate in incident investigations, ensuring root causes are identified and corrective actions are implemented.
- Promote and drive a positive health and safety culture across the project.
- Deliver toolbox talks, inductions, and HSE training sessions as required.
- Maintain accurate HSE records, reporting, and documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
- Act as a point of contact for regulators, client representatives, and contractors on HSE matters.
Experience & Skills
- NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum) or equivalent in Occupational Health & Safety.
- Proven experience as an HSE Advisor on large industrial, construction, or energy projects.
- Strong understanding of UK HSE regulations and industry best practices.
- Experience in LNG, oil & gas, or power generation projects (advantageous).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Strong organisational skills with a proactive, results-driven approach.
- Competent in preparing reports, maintaining records, and delivering presentations/training.
