Workforce Planning Manager
Sarasota, FL
Apply for this job

District Partners has been engaged by a nationally recognized, top-tier health system to identify a Manager of Workforce Strategy & Labor Analytics. This is a highly visible, high-impact role sitting at the intersection of finance, operations, and clinical leadership, responsible for shaping how labor resources are deployed across the organization.

Unlike traditional finance roles, this position functions as an internal consultant to operations, using data-driven insights to influence staffing models, improve efficiency, and support frontline teams — not simply enforce cost controls. This is an opportunity to step into a “build and own” role with executive exposure, meaningful autonomy, and long-term growth potential as the organization continues to expand.

The Manager of Workforce Strategy & Labor Analytics will serve as the central point of ownership for labor productivity analysis and workforce planning initiatives across the health system. This is a rare opportunity to step into a role where you can directly influence how a leading health system operates, while building a long-term career in a highly visible and evolving function.

What You'll Do:

Labor Strategy & Analytics

  • Analyze labor productivity trends and staffing models across departments using advanced analytics tools (e.g., labor management systems)
  • Identify opportunities to optimize staffing while maintaining high-quality patient care
  • Develop actionable recommendations and partner with leadership to implement changes
  • Monitor outcomes and continuously refine workforce strategies

Operational Partnership

  • Act as a trusted advisor to clinical and operational leaders, facilitating collaborative discussions around staffing and efficiency
  • Translate financial and labor data into meaningful insights for non-finance stakeholders
  • Support a culture of partnership — not enforcement — when addressing labor challenges

Systems & Process Ownership

  • Serve as the primary internal owner of labor analytics tools and vendor relationships
  • Collaborate with IT and business intelligence teams to enhance reporting, data accuracy, and system capabilities
  • Help define and evolve workforce management processes as the function matures

Cross-Functional Impact

  • Partner with Finance, Operations, and Clinical leadership to align staffing strategies with broader organizational goals
  • Support enterprise-level initiatives tied to growth, expansion, and operational efficiency

What You'll Have:

  • 4+ years of experience in healthcare finance, workforce analytics, FP&A, or operations
  • Exposure to labor productivity, staffing models, or operational analytics
  • Strong analytical skill set with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with senior stakeholders
  • Comfortable operating independently in a high-visibility, high-impact role

Preferred:

  • Experience within a hospital or healthcare system
  • Exposure to labor analytics tools or workforce management systems
  • Background blending finance + operations (FP&A, consulting, or healthcare ops)

Why This Role:

  • High Visibility: Regular interaction with senior leadership, including finance and operational executives
  • True Ownership: A standalone role with the ability to shape processes, strategy, and impact
  • Strategic vs. Tactical: Focus on influencing decisions, not just reporting data
  • Collaborative Culture: Emphasis on supporting operations rather than enforcing cost cuts
  • Growth Opportunity: Potential to build out a team as the organization expands
