Power BI Developer | Data & Analytics
District Partners is partnering with a growing consumer-focused organization undergoing a large-scale data and reporting transformation initiative.
Why You’ll Actually Care
This is not a maintenance-style reporting role. The organization is in the middle of modernizing how operational, commercial, and financial data is consumed across the business, and leadership recognizes the current reporting environment is not yet where it needs to be. Existing dashboards lack consistency, reporting processes remain partially manual, and enterprise reporting standards are still being established.
The company is investing heavily in centralized analytics, cloud-based data infrastructure, and scalable reporting capabilities. A major cloud data warehouse migration is already underway, but progress has been slowed by limited internal Power BI expertise and inconsistent dashboard development practices. This role was created to bring in someone who can accelerate delivery, establish structure, and help elevate the overall maturity of the analytics environment.
You’ll have visibility across multiple business functions while helping define how reporting is built moving forward. There is meaningful opportunity to influence standards, improve usability, and create dashboards executives actually rely on to make decisions.
This role starts as a long-term contract engagement with strong potential to convert into a permanent leadership-track opportunity.
The Basics
- 6+ month contract with potential for permanent conversion
- Hybrid work model in a major East Coast metro area
- Preference for candidates comfortable being onsite 1–2 days per week
- Target conversion compensation: approximately $120K–$180K base equivalent
- Contract compensation expected to align competitively with market demand
- High-visibility role supporting enterprise reporting modernization initiatives
What You’ll Be Owning
- Building and optimizing enterprise-level Power BI dashboards across operational and commercial reporting functions
- Designing scalable semantic models and standardized KPI frameworks
- Creating advanced DAX calculations and improving reporting performance and reliability
- Supporting the transition from fragmented spreadsheet-based reporting into centralized dashboards
- Partnering with data engineering teams consuming cloud-based enterprise datasets
- Helping establish reporting governance, dashboard consistency, and visualization standards
- Improving reporting accessibility, usability, and executive-level decision support
- Identifying redundant reporting processes and helping streamline workflows
- Supporting ongoing cloud analytics and data warehouse modernization efforts
- Collaborating directly with business stakeholders, technical teams, and leadership to define reporting priorities
Environment
The environment is evolving quickly and still being built out. Reporting structures, dashboard standards, and data workflows are actively maturing, so this person needs to be comfortable stepping into some ambiguity and helping create process where it does not yet exist.
The internal team has foundational Power BI exposure but lacks deep enterprise-scale dashboard development experience. This person will serve as a hands-on builder while also helping guide best practices and elevate the overall quality of reporting delivery across the organization.
There is already strong executive support behind the analytics transformation effort, and leadership is motivated to move quickly for the right person.
What You Bring to the Table
- 7+ years building Power BI solutions within enterprise environments
- Advanced experience with DAX, semantic modeling, and dashboard optimization
- Strong understanding of reporting architecture, visualization best practices, and KPI standardization
- Experience working within cloud-based analytics ecosystems and modern data platforms
- Ability to consume and validate enterprise datasets while collaborating with data engineering teams
- Familiarity with operational and business reporting environments
- Comfort working in evolving environments where processes and standards are still being defined
- Strong communication skills with the ability to partner across technical and non-technical teams
A Few Things Worth Knowing

- The organization is actively migrating toward a centralized cloud analytics environment
- The right person will have meaningful influence on reporting standards and dashboard strategy moving forward
- The team is eager to hire quickly once they identify the right fit
- Candidates who enjoy building structure, improving processes, and creating visible impact will likely thrive here
