District Partners Executive Search has been retained to identify a Finance Manager for a national nonprofit dedicated to advancing equity and capacity-building across the education and social-impact sectors.

Our client is a mission-driven organization that partners with foundations, nonprofits, and community organizations to help them strengthen their infrastructure and expand their impact. Through a unique platform that connects funders, expert service providers, and organizations in need of support, they have enabled thousands of nonprofits nationwide to access the expertise and resources required to grow and thrive.

At the heart of the social-impact ecosystem, this woman-founded and values-driven organization is nationally recognized for reimagining how philanthropic funding translates into real-world change—combining innovation, accountability, and a deep commitment to equity.

The Finance Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the organization’s financial systems, contracting, and reporting processes operate seamlessly as it scales. This individual will oversee the organization’s consulting-wallet model—a philanthropic funding structure that distributes flexible, capacity-building dollars directly to community organizations—while managing all related contracts, payments, and financial tracking.

Blending financial rigor with operational creativity, the Finance Manager will collaborate closely with senior leadership to strengthen internal systems and ensure the responsible, transparent use of funds.

This is an ideal opportunity for a finance professional who thrives in dynamic, mission-oriented environments—someone who enjoys translating complex financial processes into systems that enable sustainable impact at scale.

What You'll Have:

Financial Oversight & Reporting

  • Administer philanthropic “wallet” accounts, ensuring compliance with funder guidelines and nonprofit best practices.
  • Track and reconcile disbursements, commitments, and balances to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Collaborate with leadership to produce financial summaries and funder-ready reports.
  • Partner with external accountants and advisors to maintain audit readiness and sound internal controls.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis tied to wallet-funded initiatives.

Contract Management

  • Draft and manage contracts with consultants, vendors, and partner organizations.
  • Monitor contract execution and amendments, ensuring compliance and proper documentation.
  • Coordinate with external legal and finance teams to streamline review processes.

Process & Systems Improvement

  • Strengthen tools and workflows for contract and financial management (QuickBooks Online, Airtable, etc.).
  • Support technology integration that enhances efficiency and transparency.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to promote accountability and scalability.

What You'll Have:

  • 4+ years of progressive experience in financial operations, accounting, or grants/contracts management, ideally in a nonprofit or social-impact setting.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP principles, budgeting, and reconciliation.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online or similar accounting software; comfort using cloud-based tools (Airtable, Asana, Smartsheet, etc.).
  • Proven ability to manage multiple funding streams and restricted resources.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills — able to work cross-functionally and explain finance to non-finance audiences.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive — with the confidence to take ownership and drive systems improvement.
  • Genuine passion for equity, community impact, and social innovation.

Compensation: $94,000 – $106,000, commensurate with experience

Benefits: Comprehensive medical and dental insurance, 403(b) retirement plan with 5% match, generous PTO and holiday schedule

Location: Fully remote within the U.S. (occasional travel for in-person team meetings, 1–2 times per quarter)

Why This Role Is Exciting:

This is not just another finance role — it’s a chance to bring structure and clarity to an organization driving meaningful systems change. You’ll join a small, collaborative, and purpose-driven team where your financial expertise will directly fuel more effective, equitable outcomes for communities nationwide.

If you’re looking for a role where your financial stewardship can amplify real-world impact, we’d love to connect.
