Accounting Leadership Opportunity – Service-Based Organization


A multi-entity services organization is seeking an experienced accounting professional to support and help lead its accounting function within a complex operating environment. This role offers a blend of hands-on responsibility and leadership, working closely with finance leadership and operational partners.


This opportunity is well suited for a Manager or Senior Manager–level professional who has experience supporting professionally staffed service operations and navigating complex cost structures.


The Role

The position will oversee accounting activities tied to labor-intensive service operations, with a primary focus on expense management, cost allocation, and operational financial oversight. The individual will act as a senior accounting resource while remaining closely involved in execution and day-to-day accounting processes. Candidates with experience in environments where compensation models, productivity metrics, and maintaining expense visibility influence financial results will find this role particularly aligned.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee accounting activities related to service delivery operations, including labor-related costs and operating expenses
  • Lead and review monthly close activities, account reconciliations, and variance analysis
  • Serve as a key accounting resource for complex issues and judgment areas
  • Partner with finance and operational stakeholders to support accurate and timely reporting
  • Support and guide accounting staff; provide review, feedback, and direction
  • Promote consistency, controls, and documentation across accounting processes
  • Identify opportunities to improve clarity, efficiency, and scalability within existing workflows


Ideal Background

  • Manager or Senior Manager–level accounting experience within multi-entity, service-based organizations
  • Strong understanding of expense structures tied to professional labor and productivity
  • Experience working in regulated or compliance-oriented environments
  • Familiarity with compensation-driven financial models and related reporting
  • Comfortable balancing hands-on work with leadership responsibilities
  • CPA or public accounting background preferred but not required
