Why You’ll Actually Care

District Partners is recruiting for an established leader in commercial finance that is reinvesting in itself in a big way, standing up a dedicated AI transformation team to build the next generation of its products and services. This is not a cost-cutting automation play: the firm is using AI to open new product and service lines and change how it competes, and the team doing that work is being assembled right now. You will be the product mind at the center of it, taking an idea from a conversation with a frontline user to a prototype you build yourself to a live AI product used across the business. The role reports directly to the head of product, so your roadmap calls are heard at the top rather than filtered through layers. Getting in at this stage means the products you ship become the foundation everything else is built on.

The Basics

The company is a long-established leader in its segment of financial services with a track record of investing in technology ahead of its peers. Its AI transformation effort sits inside a technology group that runs like an in-house R&D lab, with the freedom to experiment and the mandate to ship. The firm brings what most AI startups lack: capital, deep proprietary data, established client relationships, and complex, high-value workflows where better tools pay off immediately. Leadership sees AI as a growth engine, and the investment reflects that.

What You’ll Be Owning

  • A ranked pipeline of AI product and automation opportunities, built from time spent directly with the business users who feel the friction, not from a backlog someone hands you
  • Working AI prototypes you build hands-on to test an idea in days, so engineering capacity goes only to concepts that have already shown value
  • New AI-powered products and agentic workflow tools taken from prototype to production alongside engineering, reliability, and security partners
  • A living, prioritized roadmap of AI initiatives that balances quick wins against bigger bets on new product lines
  • A clear scorecard for adoption, efficiency and business impact, with regular readouts to stakeholders and executives
  • Documentation, decision records and governance artifacts that let new AI products move quickly while holding up in a regulated environment

The Environment

This is a senior individual contributor seat on a newly formed team, so you will help shape how product work gets done instead of inheriting a fixed process. You will work across business units, engineering, security, legal, and procurement, and demand for AI help already exceeds capacity, so sharp prioritization is part of the job. The business operates under real regulatory expectations, which means good AI product work here includes guardrails, auditability, and a clear story for risk partners. Expect regular travel to offices and field locations to stay close to the people using what you build.

What You Bring to the Table

  • 10+ years in product management, including AI, machine learning, or intelligent automation products you shipped to production and supported after launch
  • Ownership across the full product lifecycle, from discovery and requirements through launch, adoption, and iteration
  • Hands-on fluency with large language models, prompt and context design, retrieval-augmented generation and agent-based workflows, deep enough to debate tradeoffs with engineers
  • The ability to build AI prototypes on your own, with working comfort in scripting, version control, structured data formats and technical documentation
  • A track record of close partnership with software engineering teams, including turning ambiguous business needs into clear requirements
  • Strong communication with executives and frontline users alike, plus the discipline to run several initiatives at once
  • Financial services or other regulated industry experience is a plus; bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

A Few Things Worth Knowing

  • Compensation: $170K to $215K base, plus discretionary bonus and full benefits including 401(k) match
  • Location: Remote, US-based
  • Work model: Remote with regular travel to company offices and field locations
  • Engagement type: Full-time, direct hire
