District Partners has been engaged by a prestigious global law firm with offices across the United States to identify a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join its growing technology and innovation organization. This role offers the opportunity to help advance the firm’s digital transformation initiatives and strengthen the quality, reliability, and performance of its enterprise applications supporting a world-class legal practice.


The SDET will design, develop, and execute automated and manual testing strategies across a suite of business-critical systems. This individual will collaborate closely with engineers, product owners, and firm leadership to ensure every technology release meets the highest standards of quality, scalability, and security. The ideal candidate combines deep technical testing expertise with the professional polish and precision expected within a global law firm or professional services environment.


What You'll Do:

  • Design and maintain scalable automated and manual testing frameworks for enterprise applications.
  • Build and enhance test automation using Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or comparable platforms.
  • Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to define testing requirements and ensure product quality.
  • Analyze test outcomes, identify defects, and drive efficient resolution.
  • Promote QA best practices and continuous improvement across the development lifecycle.


What You'll Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Min of 5+ years of hands-on experience in software testing, test automation, or quality engineering within enterprise or professional services environments (law firm experience preferred).
  • Proficiency with test automation tools such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and modern software development practices.
  • Excellent analytical skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively in a highly collaborative setting.


Location: Hybrid – New York, Washington DC, Boston, or Reston (2 days onsite per week)
