District Partners has been engaged by a leading Am Law 50 firm with offices across the United States to identify a QA Automation Engineer with deep Playwright experience to join its growing Technology and Innovation organization. This role plays a key part in advancing the firm’s digital transformation initiatives—ensuring enterprise applications supporting a world-class legal practice are tested, secure, and optimized for performance. The ideal candidate brings a background in law, healthcare, or fintech, where precision, compliance, and reliability are paramount.


About the Role:

The QA Automation Engineer will design, build, and maintain automated testing solutions with a strong focus on Playwright, driving quality across a suite of business-critical systems. Partnering closely with software engineers, product owners, and firm leadership, this individual will strengthen reliability, scalability, and speed to release while promoting QA best practices throughout the organization.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain scalable Playwright-based automation frameworks for enterprise applications
  • Create and execute automated and manual test cases using Playwright and other tools (Cypress, Selenium)
  • Collaborate with developers to define testing scope, coverage, and acceptance criteria
  • Identify, document, and track defects through resolution, ensuring high-quality releases
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and participate in code reviews to embed quality throughout development
  • Champion test automation and continuous improvement across the SDLC


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in software QA, test automation, or quality engineering
  • Demonstrated expertise with Playwright for test automation (Cypress or Selenium experience also valued)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and modern DevOps practices
  • Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and effective communication in a collaborative environment
  • Prior experience in law, healthcare, or fintech industries preferred


This is a Hybrid position based in New York, Washington DC, Boston, or Reston, requiring two days onsite each week. Target compensation ranges from $120K to $145K, commensurate with experience and location.
