District Partners has been engaged by a top-tier, nationally recognized accounting and advisory firm to identify a senior-level leader for its Transaction Advisory Services (TAS) practice. This firm is known for its entrepreneurial culture, strong private-equity relationships, and commitment to building scalable advisory platforms across the U.S.

The Managing Director will play a critical role supporting buy-side and sell-side transactions for private equity sponsors and strategic acquirers across a diverse set of industries, including business services, manufacturing, distribution, technology, healthcare, hospitality, and consumer-focused sectors. This is a high-impact leadership role for a transaction professional who enjoys both hands-on deal execution and practice growth, and who wants the autonomy to help shape a fast-growing advisory platform.

Beyond deal execution, this role offers the opportunity to:

  • Act as a market leader in regions with existing or emerging firm presence
  • Help expand transaction advisory offerings through client development and cross-selling
  • Partner closely with firm leadership on practice growth initiatives

What You'll Do:

  • Lead and oversee multiple financial and accounting due diligence engagements simultaneously for middle-market and upper-middle-market transactions
  • Analyze historical financial statements, quality of earnings, working capital trends, and normalized EBITDA
  • Conduct management interviews and collaborate directly with buyers, sellers, and deal teams
  • Translate complex financial findings into clear, decision-useful insights for investors and executives
  • Manage engagement timelines, deliverables, and client expectations from kickoff through close
  • Develop, coach, and mentor Managers, Seniors, and Associates; provide formal performance feedback
  • Support business development efforts including proposal development, client meetings, and thought leadership
  • Build long-term relationships with private equity groups, corporate development teams, and internal service lines
  • Maintain strong technical command of U.S. GAAP and transaction advisory best practices

What You'll Have:

  • 8–10+ years of experience in transaction advisory, financial due diligence, audit, or M&A advisory
  • Background in a Big Four or top-tier national / regional accounting or advisory firm strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to lead engagements and interact confidently with private equity professionals and C-suite executives
  • Proven experience supervising and developing teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Excel; working knowledge of PowerPoint and Word
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA license preferred (or progress toward certification)
  • Willingness to travel periodically (generally ~20% or less)

Why This Role?

  • Visible leadership position within a rapidly expanding TAS platform
  • Opportunity to influence market expansion and firm strategy, not just execute deals
  • Collaborative, high-integrity culture that values mentorship and long-term relationships
  • Exposure to a broad mix of industries, deal structures, and investor types
