District Partners is supporting a private equity–backed manufacturing organization that is investing heavily in modernizing its enterprise technology environment as part of a broader operational and digital transformation initiative.
As the organization continues to scale and support operations across multiple facilities and business units, they are expanding their infrastructure engineering team and seeking a Senior Infrastructure & Cloud Engineer to help design, maintain, and evolve the company’s hybrid infrastructure platforms.
This engineer will work across enterprise networking, virtualization, identity platforms, datacenter systems, and cloud services to ensure that core technology systems remain reliable, secure, and scalable. The role requires a hands-on infrastructure professional who enjoys solving complex technical challenges while partnering with leadership to support long-term growth initiatives.
Position Overview
The Senior Infrastructure & Cloud Engineer will be responsible for supporting and improving a hybrid enterprise infrastructure environment that includes on-premise datacenter systems, distributed operational locations, and cloud services.
This role requires strong technical expertise across server infrastructure, virtualization platforms, networking environments, and Microsoft cloud technologies, along with the ability to contribute to strategic infrastructure initiatives such as disaster recovery planning, infrastructure automation, and technology modernization.
The engineer will work closely with IT leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure infrastructure platforms support operational continuity, security standards, and evolving business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and maintain a distributed enterprise infrastructure environment spanning corporate systems, operational facilities, and cloud services.
- Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure solutions across networking, server platforms, virtualization technologies, and cloud infrastructure.
- Manage enterprise identity and directory services including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, authentication platforms, and domain services.
- Support virtualization environments responsible for hosting enterprise workloads, including cluster administration, virtual machine lifecycle management, and high-availability configurations.
- Maintain networking infrastructure including LAN connectivity, wireless networking environments, and secure network segmentation across multiple sites.
- Assist in the administration and optimization of Microsoft cloud services and enterprise collaboration platforms.
- Work closely with security and operations teams to ensure infrastructure environments align with organizational security policies and monitoring requirements.
- Participate in business continuity and disaster recovery initiatives, ensuring infrastructure systems can recover quickly from operational disruptions.
- Develop operational documentation, automation processes, and infrastructure procedures that improve system reliability and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with IT leadership and business stakeholders to align infrastructure capabilities with organizational growth and operational needs
Core Technical Environment
The infrastructure environment includes a mix of enterprise platforms commonly used in hybrid IT environments, including:
- Microsoft Active Directory and enterprise identity platforms
- Microsoft cloud services and collaboration platforms
- Enterprise virtualization technologies supporting production workloads
- Enterprise networking platforms supporting distributed connectivity
- Backup and disaster recovery platforms
- Infrastructure monitoring and alerting systems
- Datacenter hardware management and remote management tools
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise infrastructure environments
- Strong hands-on experience with servers, virtualization technologies, networking infrastructure, and cloud platforms
- Experience supporting hybrid infrastructure environments combining on-premise systems and cloud services
- Understanding of infrastructure security practices and operational reliability standards
- Experience supporting infrastructure across distributed operational environments or multiple facilities
- Ability to translate technical infrastructure concepts into clear business solutions for leadership stakeholders
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical discipline
- Industry certifications related to cloud, infrastructure, or virtualization technologies
- Experience supporting organizations undergoing technology modernization, infrastructure upgrades, or operational growth
