District Partners is supporting a long-standing government integrator in the search for a seasoned Full Stack Java Developer. This individual must be technically hands-on, with the ability to step into a lead developer role once up to speed. You’ll be instrumental in building and scaling applications used by U.S. Customs and Border Protection—mission-critical systems supporting national operations.
Title: Full Stack Java Developer (Lead-Capable)
Location: Hybrid | Ashburn, Va.
Clearance: Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain/maintain a CBP Background Investigation
Compensation: Commensurate with experience
Engagement Type: Long-term Contract (C2C or W2)
What You’ll Do:
- Develop and maintain scalable full-stack applications
- Build and manage RESTful APIs and microservices
- Design and optimize SQL/NoSQL database schemas
- Lead and mentor developers in an agile environment
- Participate in architecture decisions and code reviews
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments
- Champion application security, performance, and scalability
Must-Have Technical Experience:

Backend: Java 8+, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, Hibernate, JPA, Spring Security

Frontend: React, Angular, or Vue.js; JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3

Preferred Qualifications:
- 10+ years of full-stack development experience
- Experience with CI/CD (Jenkins, GitLab CI) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Familiarity with message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka)
- Agile/Scrum methodology experience
- Strong understanding of software architecture and design patterns
