District Partners has been exclusively engaged on this search for a Director of Accounting. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this senior leadership role is responsible for overseeing the financial operations and accounting functions of the organization. The Director of Accounting will ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data, compliance with regulations, and provide strategic financial insights to support business decisions.


What You'll Do:

  • Lead monthly close and financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare executive-level financial statements, analysis, and presentations.
  • Manage tax, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, FAR/DFARS, CAS, and DCAA guidelines.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
  • Oversee international and statutory tax strategy and compliance.
  • Drive ERP implementation and optimization, with emphasis on NetSuite and Acumatica.
  • Collaborate on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic initiatives.
  • Build and lead a high-performing accounting team; hire and mentor as the company grows.
  • Coordinate external audits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Deliver executive-level summaries of financial data for leadership and board reporting.
  • Apply strong technical accounting expertise, including revenue recognition and cost accounting.
  • Leverage experience in government contracting (GovCon) to guide compliance and reporting.
  • Partner with leadership on process improvements and systems enhancements.
  • Demonstrate ability to thrive in high-growth, fast-paced, and scaling environments.
  • Contribute to potential IPO readiness and other strategic corporate initiatives.
  • Maintain advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial analysis tools.


What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; MBA preferred.
  • CPA required.
  • 12+ years of finance and accounting experience with at least 5 years in leadership.
  • Experience in hardware-focused businesses with engineering, manufacturing, and R&D functions preferred.
  • Proven ability to implement ERP and financial systems, with NetSuite and Acumatica strongly valued.
  • Prior IPO or high-growth company experience is a plus.
