District Partners is engaged on this exclusive search for a Senior Associate. Our client, a fast-growing and dynamic organization, is seeking a highly skilled accounting professional with strong technical expertise to join their team. This is a 4–6 month contract engagement in a fully remote capacity, offering the opportunity to work on complex accounting projects, financial reporting, and operational improvements while partnering closely with leadership. As a Senior Associate, you will play a key role in ensuring compliance with accounting standards, strengthening internal processes, and driving accuracy across the finance function.
What You'll Do:
- Support the preparation and review of financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Perform technical accounting research on complex transactions (e.g., revenue recognition, leases, equity arrangements, business combinations)
- Assist in drafting and maintaining accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance and consistency
- Partner with senior leadership on financial reporting deliverables and special projects
- Collaborate on month-end and quarter-end close processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis
- Provide guidance on internal controls and assist in implementing process improvements
- Contribute to audit readiness and liaise with external auditors as needed
- Support ad hoc projects, including system implementations, acquisition integrations, and financial modeling
Preferred Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred, but not required)
- 3–6 years of progressive experience in public accounting (Big 4 or national firm) and/or corporate accounting
- Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP, technical accounting, and financial reporting
- Experience with accounting research and drafting technical memos
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex transactions
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions in a remote environment
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
